I am new to this, so bear with the newbie. I am looking at purchasing some hemp/fleece to make doublers. Many of the sites say that it comes in 27" tubular. What does this mean?

Also, any particular recs for places to purchase good hemp/fleece at a fair price?

TIA!

I think it just means that it's in the form of a tube--you cut down one side to get a flat piece. So, if it's 27", once you cut it, it will be more like 54".

Yes, tubular just means the fabric was knit in the form of a tube, and when you cut it open it's twice the width of the tube.

Personally, I think co-ops are the best way to buy most of these fabrics at a fair price. There's currently an organic Hemp/Fleece co-op waiting to be filled at groups.yahoo.com/group/art-by-craft The hemp/fleece will be $7 a yard, plus a small shipping fee.

Hope that helps!!
