Ughh... no directions came with them, my e-mails have been unanswered, and now I'm desparate ... leaving for vacation tomorrow.
1. Do I need to do anything before I use them?
2. general care?

I have a couple of their soakers. I just used mine, but you could lanolize them first. It only takes 15 minutes. Though I have found that moisture often finds its way through them, so change diapers frequently.

Same as you would normally with any wool soaker - I wash my BJM soaker on gentle with cool water and Eucalan wash, I lay it flat to dry

I hand wash mine once avery couple of weeks and then dry flat. I lanolize about every other wash.

yep, they covered it! should be ready to go - if it gets damp, just let it air out btwn using. wash every few wks in lukewarm water with eucalan, wool wash or baby shampoo

lanolize as needed.

What the others said...hand wash when dirty or every couple of weeks and lanolize once a month or when you notice it is leaking a bit. Use wool wash and melted lanolin or a wool buddy.
