Okay...so I'll try to make this as short as possible. I want to concieve Octoberish but I am having trouble sorting through some issues:

Big issue that has many issues wrapped up inside)
I am still nursing my almost 19 month old around 3 times a day (after naps and in the morning). I want to get the silver fillings taken out that were put in 2 years ago before I get pregnant again because I've read so many bad things about them and found an amazing qualified dentist to remove them. Anyway, they said that I need to wait a month after taking out silver fillings to concieve. They also won't take them out (obviously) while I'm still nursing which means I'd have to start weaning her now in order to get the fillings out with enough time to wait a month to hit the "octoberish" timing. Is it possible to have my cake and eat it too? I love nursing and would love to nurse her through another winter. I don't know how to juggle these decisions. I really want to summer baby and the timing of October would work out just perfect but I don't know what to do because I want to make sure I'm not making all my decision based off of "I wants" vs. "DD needs" etc... I hope I made at least a little sense!

My honest thoughts...Your silver fillings are SO recent, that I doubt they are falling apart (leaking mercury) into your system that badly. Now granted, NO mercury would be better, but having them taken out is more then a month long process afterwards. I have been doing bunchs of research lately, because I DID have a silver filling removed about 3 months ago, and I REALLY regret it. Chelating after having them removed can take a VERY long time, and can be hard on your body. Unless they are old, or falling apart, or you have TONS of them, my thoughts would be to just leave them in untill your done baby making/nursing.

Thanks - I was hoping to get perspectives from that angle! I appreciate your input. That is something I also considered is just waiting until after the baby phase was over. I just want to badly to do things "right" and make my body a perfect little haven for this baby. With my DD I was still trusting of everyone and let them put the silver fillings in my teeth while I was pregnant! I've changed so much since then...anyway...:)

I've read things like what CNutty said--it's most likely better to wait. If you want more data on what's in your body, you can get a hair analysis done. I just sent mine off, and my naturopath is waiting for the results to come back.
: It was pretty simple to do.
