Hi Everyone!

After my current batch of paper napkins run out, I'm not buying any more. So, we'll use cloth. Easy enough...but I'm intrigued by the idea of "family cloth" that many of you do...can you walk me through how you use it and what system you have for washing, etc? I don't have babies in the house any more (dd is 5 and ds is 9), so I'm not washing cd's like I used to...thoughts?

Thanks,

I cut some old t-shirts into squares and keep them in a basket near the toilet. The used ones go into a small steel garbage pail that has a lid. Wash in hot water with the undies and socks. My husband won't use them because he thinks its weird, but my daughter and I do. Pretty easy to use, and I think cleaner and more comfortable.

I bought some flannel sheets at a thrift store and cut them into 8" x 8" squares. I just zig-zagged the edges together.

We put those in a basket on the back of the toilet. Used ones go into a covered trash can next to the toilet. We just wet them with warm water from the tap and I also keep a peri-bottle with warm water nearby in case anyone wants to rinse before wiping.

I wash the wipes about every other day. I use hot water and also dry on high heat. Sometimes I'll add towels to the load, but it depends upon what other dirty laundry is around.
