I thought I read that somewhere. I swear my wool went into its soak looking cleaner than it came out. It got brownish on the seam and it's icky looking but it wasn't that dirty there before. Is it the lanolin? wool soap? I used imse vimse and it's an organic wool loveybums cover.

Sure can - white or brown spots. Fill your sink with warm water, a squirt or two of Dawn and let the wool soak in it for a bit. This will strip out the lanolin and actually get your wool cleaner - since lanolin can hold in some grime on the wool. Then rinse gently in the sink and relanolize. HTH!
