hi
i've been feeling lots of kicking on the right side of my rib cage, and can feel her spine along my left side, with flutters down by my pubic region... which i think is pretty similar to what you're having (?)...
i'm pretty sure she's laying head down, with her head tucked right near my pubic region / cervix, her fists near her face, her back curved, butt up (under my diaphragm), knees bent up to her chest and feet occasionally stretching out of my right side.
skulls tend to be very hard ~ when you rub your hand against it, you can tell it's bone, even though baby skulls are still soft ~ and baby butts are a little rounder and squishier than heads. butts will also be attached to legs, so if you can figure out where your baby's knees are, that will give you a cllue as to where his or her butt is. feet are a little bigger than hands; hands tend to be made into fists, and are smaller and rounder than baby feet. sometimes if you press in really hard to your belly and run your hands up and down you can get an idea of how the baby is laying (it helps me to close my eyes and translate what i'm feeling into a visualization of the baby).
my next dr's appointment is this coming friday, so i'll probably ask then if i'm right.
