Or any kind of non-stretchy pants? My dd is 13 months and wears anywhere from 24m-3t. She's 29.5 lbs last we weighed her. Any time we try on pants that aren't stretchy, they don't even come close to working. Even with a 4t, (several inches too long) the rise is a few inches short of covering her diaper in the back, and in the front seems to go up too much. Her tummy flops over in front, and it looks way uncomfortable. Standing would probably be fine, but not sitting. Its not just her big CD booty either. We've tried pants on with her wearing a pocket dipe stuffed with nothing but a preemie prefold. Easily as trim as a sposie. Anyone else? Is there a magic brand I need to try?

My son has been in 2T jeans (Target brand I think) since about 21 or 22 months. However, he does not wear diapers. He is reasonably skinny.

I had the same problem with my DS. He basically only wore stretchy pants for a long time. I was able to find one pair of jeans at a second-hand store that ran wide and had elastic waist. I found going to 2nd-hand stores was easier than going to a new store because they have so many different brands, you can compare sizes and brands. I also bought 3T and sometimes 4T pants for him and lightly stiched them (meaning rolled them inside and hemmed them without cutting so as he grew I could take them down later). He has slimmed down some what now that he's 19 months. He's grown in height, but hasn't gained much weight, compared to before at least. I have adjusted some of those hems a few times and some I have completely taken down so he can ware the pant normal. But mostly, like I said, he just wore stretchy pants. I just did the hemming for special occasion outfits mainly.

DD is 8 months and can only wear stretchy pants (she is over 22 pounds). She wears CD but even when we try jeans or other pants on her while wearing a 'sposie they still don't work because of her big belly. I LOVE denim, and jeans and a tee are my staple clothes and I'm dying to be able to put her in the same but it's just not in the cards until she gets older and thins out a bit. For now, we're big into overalls!

Nope, my DD can't wear jeans either! She has a big ol' belly and we we need to do the strecthy pants. The closest thing she had to jeans or no-stretchy pants were some "cargo" type from Target that had elastic waist and adjustable/roll up cuffs. So we bought those in a larger size and rolled up the extra length. I never liked jeans too much anyway b/c they are stiff and hard to pull off and on for diapers changes. Or maybe that's just cos she's big! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

DD has one pair of Vitamins brand jeans that I got at a thrift store that fit well--they are pretty loose cut and have an elastic waist. She's pretty thin, though, so I don't know if that would help you.

My Toddler is very tall and pretty slim now, he was a big baby.. I still only put cotton/stretchy pants on him. What's the point of limiting their freedom of movement. I just bagged 13 garbagebags full of unworn babyclothes.. so much of them brand new, very cute.. but just not practical. People buy us stuff all the time but I won't put things on my kids that don't allow them total freedom of movement.
