Usually once it hardens you can gently scrape it up with a knife or razor blade. If there is residue left behind, you can use a warm iron and an old rag. Just put the iron over the spot with the rag inbetween, let it get warm and it will absorb the wax. Keep moving a clean part of the rag to the spot until it is gone. This also works on carpet, just skip the scraping part and go right to the warm iron.
