I know there's more to astrology than the sun sign, but still.... how many of us are thinking about the baby's sign and what it might mean? I've always been very compatible with capricorns, and dp is a very lovable one, but I'm curious if this little one will end up with the despondent trait most capricorns I know are famous for.

my daughter is a sag and was/is such a totally different kid.. i was actuaally wondering/hoping that this baby might hold out and be an aquarius.. my daughter was supposed to be a scorpio and arrived 2 weeks late as a sag...so she would only have to be a week and a half late, which im pretty much counting on.<br>
if that happens then i'll have an earth, an air and a fire baby <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> im a watery pisces myself..

I have a Capricorn who is just an angel. She is so perfect. She does get a little moody, but it's nothing compared to the mood swings of my Aquarius!

Nah, my Aquarius is sweet. He is moody and...different than my other two. But I'm a Virgo and I have a Cap and a Libra. We fit together like peas and carrots. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br><br>
Now, I may be having a Sag. That'll shake things up. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/bigeyes.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="bigeyes">

My firstborn is a Capricorn - she was a sweet, easy-going baby and now is almost 5 and is just delightful: helpful, caring, compassionate, creative, and very loving. I see a certain sensitivity in her, but not despondancy at all. She's definitely my least "moody" child. (Not that she's always delightful, I doubt there ever was a 4 yo who didn't whine sometimes!! LOL)

<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> DD is a gemini, and let me tell you, that whole "twin" thing? Totally on target. There was one night in particular, when she was just MELTING DOWN. DH and I were going to call an old priest and a young priest! It was BAD. And then, all of a sudden....blammo, dear sweet Joey was back. I almost peed my pants laughing. It was THAT quick.<br><br>
DH is a capricorn, so I figure I've got plenty of practice dealing with them. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> Luckily, I'm a Libra, so I just do what I have to to keep the peace <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/biglaugh.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="laugh">

<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">Personally, I'm a Capricorn. I don't get despondant, I do get pessimistic. Little more serious than most, but as I get older, definately have loosened up. My mom always said I was an Old Soul. I was more mature than other kids, but I still managed to get into trouble <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br>
I'm not sure what to expect of this baby, since my DD is a taurus. She's a sweetheart, but can live up to the typical taurus mentality of her way or no way <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> Actually when it comes right down to it, horns all around here! Aries(dh) Capricorn(me) Taurus (dd) and Capricorn (baby)<br>
I really enjoy astrology myself, and at one time knew quite a bit, for example, Taurus and Aries aren't supoposed to get along (DH and DD are totally in love) Capricorn and Aries aren't supposed to get along in most books (DH and I are fantastic together) Capricorn and Taurus are supposed to get along great( DD and I do, but sometimes its harder than it should be)<br>
You really need to just go with the flow, because you really never know exactly what you are going to get. Heck, apparently, the day you are born is just as important as the moon or sun! I've given up, too darn confusing <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

Well, the fact is that sun sign astrology is HIGHLY unreliable. It just happens to be the easiest sign to figure out, so that's what people go with <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br><br>
The true measure of "who you are" is in your rising sign, which in my case is Leo. I can tell you that I am way more Leo than Libra most days. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/biglaugh.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="laugh">:<br><br>
So, when I read those things, like how Capricorns and Libras are far from a match made in heaven, I check my rising sign, instead of my sun sign. So, for example, DH's rising sign in Aquarius and mine, as mentioned is Leo, and most books will tell you that's a dandy pairing. And, in my experience, it is <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1"><br><br>
I can help anyone find out their rising sign if you guys want. Or there are tons of websites that will give you a free natal chart <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1"> I have a computer program that I figure out everyone's chart with. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1"> All I need is date, time and place of birth <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin">

DD is a Leo and DS is a Virgo.. this one will hopefully be an Aquarius.. my dad is an Aquarius and we have a great relationship. My mom is a virgo and my sister is a Leo.. so it's interesting to see my kids personalities imerge. My DD is a lot like how my sister was when she was younger. DS is stubborn like me. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

that is wonderful i will have to get back to you when the baby is born. i'd like to know my rising sign, but i'm not positive on my time of birth i'll have to get back to you.<br><br>
i have been very interested in this whole capricorn vs. aquarius thing since the beginning. i tend to not like capricorns. not saying i don't like any of you that are. but then when i really started thinking about it i just know a lot of capricorns. i really like some of them...in fact two of my closest friends are capricorns and my grandfather who is about my favorite person in the whole world is as well. there are just certain things...such as their seriousness that i don't like...i'm a gemini...i don't think i'm ever serious...even if i was i'd change my mind about it later. all of my aquarius friends are definately extremely moody. once a sag. friend of mine called an aquarius friend of mine moody. the aquarius friend refused to speak to the sagitarius for six months.

I was a cap and my mom always said I was a perfect angel baby. But I made up for it later on, believe me. I do NOT want this one to be a cap, just because I am one and I think a cap mom & cap baby could be a BAD combination. My DS is a sag, DH is a libra, and we all mesh very well.

My son is a capricorn, and DD will be, as well (Jan 15th). He *was* a kind of hard baby (I wondered if he'd ever be happy, and what I had done wrong), but he has been an awesome, happy, laid-back, EASY toddler and preschooler. I hope Claudia is much like he is. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1">
