Cod Liver Oil: Murky Contents

ETA: The article above is dated April 16, 2005. It's unclear to me if Carlson labs have changed their cod liver oil products since.

Yup. Heard about that too. My next order will be for some Blue Ice!
I'm glad I saw this, since I was just about to go buy some this afternoon. What is the best brand to get now? Is Nordic Naturals good?
I haven't heard anything terrible about NN, it just isn't as high in the vitamins.
We use Garden of Life for now. I want to get the blue ice next time. I'm taking it more for the A and D than for the fat.
I ordered two bottles of NN (one molecularly distilled, one not) just before I came across the article above. We need the fats right now, as well as the other nutrients.

I've heard it's best to have high vitamin cod liver oil, but until I can find a source in Canada, I'll just stick to NN.
There's a couple of links to Canadian suppliers of CLO at the end of the current NT mamas thread.
For those taking the blue ice brand, what flavor would you recommend? I don't know but all the flavors really don't sound good paired along w/fish oil but then again, I've never tried it.
ugh!!! I'm wanting to take cod liver oil for my breastfeeding dd (5 months)- she needs the DHA for her eyes because she has albinism. I was thinking just those little cod liver oil capsules at the grocery store were fine. . . what exactly should I be looking for to get good high in DHA cod liver oil? Ugh I so don't want to taste it!!!!

We take the Mint Blue Ice - it has a really smooth taste and both my boys (2 and 4.5) LOVE it!

Has anyone here tried the Radiant Life brand? It looks like the cheapest, but it doesn't have any flavoring. I wonder how "fishy" it is, the website says it is mild, but I am wondering if it would go in a smoothie.

if it's a quality brand you arent going to really taste much. I'm taking Nordic naturals peach (i'll get lemon next time tho) and there is just BARELY a fish taste, and I'm not even suer if i'm imagining it or not. It took me a few weeks to get used to the oilyness tho.

Try this page for descriptions of flavors: http://www.greenpasture.org/flavors.php

I will probably be getting the orange since DD is sensitive to hot or minty flavors. Otherwise I'd get the cinnamon, I've heard it tastes like Red Hots.

That's our favorite too. We currently have the cinnamon and the kid's don't like it as much.

My kids didn't like it much, but took it off the spoon. They prefer Blue Ice.

I would recommend the Blue Ice brand personally.
