I am going out today and wanted to try giving my DD a bit of pumped milk... she is absolutely completely distractable and terribly difficult to nip. :

My question is, how do you store/carry milk when you are going out... I have a diaper bag that has a insulated bottle holder. Do I need to put an icepack in there too? or do you just keep it in the boobs? (IE no pumped milk. )

I personally would just nip, but if you really want to use a bottle, then I would pump immediately before going and breastmilk can be stored at room temp for uo to 10 hours. So, then it's already at a good temp (to avoid needing to warm it later). This is all providing that you'll be using it within 10 hours.

Here's the link from LLL about room temp:

http://www.llli.org/FAQ/milkstorage.html

Thanks! I usually do just nip, but she is so distractable that she doesn't often manage to get a good feed in, and she gets fussy. Only if she is almost asleep lately will she nurse well. Even in a carrier, she just wants to see everything that is going on!
