Is using a cast iron pot safe for making stock? I forgot to put a splach of vinegar in it this time. just chicken parts.
I know that you wouldn't make apple sauce in cast iron because too much iron would be taken up by the sauce. Is this true for stocks? It simmered for about 30 hrs (life is busy).

Thanks

I wouldn't worry as long as it is low acid. It is good that you left the vinegar out. Did you put in tomatoes or anything else acidic? If not, I think you are fine to use it.
