Is there a way to discourage cats from crawling up in the engine compartment of vehicles? Our cat just started doing this recently, and it's got me nervous. Any ideas? Course we can try to remember to check under the hood before starting the vehicle, but I'm afraid one time we'll not catch her...

Ive always tried to remember to bang on the hood before starting the car to scare them out. Dont think theres a way to keep a cat out though, and if there were I bet the cats would figure out a way around it! Around here its only a problem in winter. Bang those hoods!

honking the horn once or twice before you start up helps too-though if you are in town the neighbors might wonder...

They leave some pretty impressive burnouts on occasion.....(well, if you have a loose top driveway)
