My 3 mo old, exclusively breastfed baby's poo is runny (even for a bf baby), not "seedy", and dark. Is this cause for concern?

It started when I was on antibiotics for mastits, but hasn't gone away since I quit them. My guess is his intestinal flora is all out of wack and I need to get ahold of some probiotics for babies. Anyone have any suggestions?

I never experienced similar poos with our ds so I don't have any advice there, but I can help you out with the baby probiotics.

Jarrow Formulas (a vitamin company) makes a product called "Baby's Jarro-Dophilus". It comes in a smallish white plastic bottle with a light blue label and should be in the refrigerated supplements section of your health food store for about $10-$15. Pricey, but it lasts quite a while.

We used this when ds when 2 or 3 months old with no problems - the label even has dosage instructions for newborns. It comes in powdered form, so I just wet my nipple before nursing, sprinkled on the right amount and let the little guy nurse it off.

I hope that helps and I hope you get to the bottom (no pun intended!) of your poo concerns.
