I posted this earlier but wanted some CBFM users to answer if you could since I am using it. Just curious about opinions. Thank you!!

I don't normally buy all the things that say you can do this or that to have a boy or a girl. But since my DH and I are TTC our third and final child, after having two boys, I kinda would like to raise my chances at least for a girl. Any advice? Thanks ladies and babydust to all!!!

I am a CBFM user and I would reccommend that you try the Shettles method the book "How to choose the sex of your baby" by Landrum B. Shettles, M.D., Ph.D. along with the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor is an excellent way to increase your chances of having a baby girl. I do think in my own personal opinion that the CBFM *might* actually be more effective at achieving females when paired with the Shettles method, simply due to the fact that the CBFM gives you the "advanced notice" of "high fertility days" even before you see your lh surge and "peak day". The most important thing is to first read the book throughly before attempting to try the method, to make sure you fully understand how it works. Also make sure you start charging your cycles now if you are not already as charting is the most important thing you could do increase your chances of concieving. Also, please understand this you would normally have an equal 50/50 chance, and the Shettles method gives you roughly a 75% chance of concieving a girl. But please keep in mind, it is not error proof and while it may increase your chances of concieving the sex that you so desire, it does not guarentee that it will happen. And Finally, girl or boy, please just be aware that you should love your baby equally regardless of the gender.

Thanks for your reply! Don't get me wrong, if I ended up with all boys, I would feel fulfilled and very blessed as I already do with my two boys. I was just thinking it would be neat to have a girl but if it's not meant to be then that's ok too! Thanks again for responding!

You've probably heard this, but I've always heard to time BD a few days before you ovulate to try for a girl, since the "female" sperm are slower but more durable than the male. The "male" sperm are faster but more fragile, so generally can't survive so long while waiting for the egg. I agree with above poster that if you use the CBFM it would probably help since it gives you a few extra days of warning before you ovulate. If you have time, you may want to chart and use the CBFM for one or two cycles and get an accurate picture of what your right BD window may be....

I have a little 19 mos girl, but I wasn't charting or using the CBFM when we conceived her. It is funny because she is such a little tomboy, we wonder sometimes if she was meant to be a boy!
Anyway, no matter what you have, he/she will be just perfect in your eyes!

GL! X Chromosone Baby Dust to you!!!

you are so sweet, thank you! Yes I will try the method of BD a couple or few days before O. I also took a peak at the Chinese conception calendar thing and it said for me to conceive april or may for a girl. well one said may through july and the other said april-may, so who knows? haha I don't put any stock in those it's just fun. But you're right, whatever I get I'll be thrilled with!
