Celexa

I posted a question here before on side effects of meds in baby. My deppresion is not PPD, but the long term variety. I tried Wellbutrin but I noticed a significant drop in my supply on day 4, so I quit. So, now my doc has written me a script for Celexa. The side effects list has dry mouth and lighter menses(that part is nice). Does that mean that I can expect a low supply from that too? I do not even want to try it if it is going to do that. Does anyone have any experience with this? I could not find anything about this med on Hale's site. Maybe I was not looking hard enough though.

I have known dozens and dozens of women through the years who have taken SSRI's and breastfed (several who were on Celexa) and you are the first person I have heard of who mentioned this. If it is a concern, perhaps you could talk to a pharmacist and get the package inserts from several different ssri's and see if there are some that don't mention those as side effects. I was on Lexapro which is sort of a spin off of Celexa with some of the major side effects eliminated and I didn't notice any dry mouth. I did notice lighter and shorter periods at first, but sadly, it didn't last for more than a few months.
