Hi, I'm in the grafton area too... I posted a thread like this a while ago and I mostly got recommendations for closer to Boston. I believe that Dr. Breahm of Child Health associates is supposed to be laid back, as well as another doc who is out of Fallon (Dr. Nishino). Then there was Dr. Janet Levatin in Brookline, which unfortunately is too far for us to drive. Dr. Lacava in West Boylston is supposed to be FANTASTIC, but we can't see him because we have Harvard Pilgrim and they don't accept... I hope this helps, and I hope that someone sees the post and has recommendation because ds 12 month visit is coming up soon and I'm already arming myself for the battle :

We've been shleping to LaCava for the last six months (about a 45 minutes drive), but we can't go there anymore. His nurse is so clueless about babies, she even said last time, "babies hate me." Yarrow is terrified and cries uncontrollably so that we can't even have a proper visit with LaCava. And he is not so warm and fuzzy that he can overcome her fear. She never cried once at the mainstream doc. Go figure. If you go, I hope you have better luck with his staff. Also be warned, his office is super rundown. It is clean but really dingy. I had to get over that and maybe I never did and that's why I'm on the hunt for another ped in north central Mass. If anyone LOVES their ped, would love a recommendation. Yarrow is also not vaccinated and I don't need parenting classes at the doctor's office as I found where we used to go.

We finally sold our house and will be moving next month! So I will also be looking for a Central Mass pedi. Dh just changed our insurance during open enrollment. And I can't remember what he picked. Why does everything have to be so complicated? :

I use a family practitioner in Worcester for my children and myself. I selectively vaxed Caitlin and he was open and supportive with that. He's never given me any attitude about refusing scrips for baby vitamins & flouride supplements. He was also supportive of my intervention free delivery (including refusing abx for GBS). I'm not sure how he'd feel or how supportive he'd be about not vaxing at all. I'd be happy to supply his name to anyone who would like to make an appt to interview him. Just pm me for the info

That's funny, as I have LaCava and although he has the personality of a rock, my kids are fine with him. He has one nurse I really like (reddish/brown fuzzy sort of hair) she always remembers us and well, she is good. Then he has this other woman, dark hair, who is CLUELESS! She couldn't even read the scale! The fact he is fine with no circ/vax and is very pro ebf and delaying solids keeps me with him. I did have Dr. Lyons with my first son who is at Leominster Hospital, and he was fantastic. He was OK with us not vaxing, etc. I told him once, and he never brought it up again. I would reccomend him for sure.
