Cervical twinges

Some of you have been talking about these when you start to dilate, what do they feel like? Today I have been having major pain low in my crotch, almost like when baby kicks your very full bladder. But it isn't on my bladder, and I've been having lot's of lower back cramping too. Is this what your feels like??

I have a lot of pressure in the crotch area-but occasionally I get these feelings that remind me of that sharp twinge you get when you have a pap smear.
I had a lot of cervical twinges in late PG last time and it's starting again this time around too. I don't think it was dilation in my case. Ds really was moving around a lot and I think he was often pushing against my cervix with his head and even punching it with his hands. It was quite uncomfortable. I also think he broke the amniotic sac because it broke when I was fast asleep and labour hadn't started yet.

I have been having LOTS of cervical twinges this pregnancy (more than I remember last time).

It feels like an electric current zaps me....and makes me go
!!

I hadn't really thought of it as being dialation. I kind of just assumed that sometimes the baby is positioned just so and his/her head lays right into the top of my cervix.

I'm seeing my MW tomorrow and was planning to mention it to her...I'll let you know if she thinks it's anything out of the ordinary.

I just feel lots of pressure. A couple wks ago I was feeling like a had period cramps. I asked my mw about it cuz I thought it was bhc or something and she said that those kind of cramps are actually BETTER than bh's. Meaning, they're more effective. I was like, ALL RIGHT!!

I have been having those too - the period like cramps, very different from my usual BH. And I believe your mw, bc I am 3 cm dilated already!

Yup, I have those crampy feelings, a lot of b/h AND cervical twinges. It feels much like I did last time and I was already 4cm at 37 weeks. I'm assuming I'm probably already dialating and because of all the contractions I'm trying to spread out my nesting so I don't overdo it. I want to make it to at least 36 weeks... after that, well "all's fair in love and war"- and birth.

Another thing to consider is that I don't know about you all, but my pubic bone hurts! The pubis symphysis separates normally during pregnancy but it can be painful. I didn't have this problem last pg, but I do this time. It does feel a lot like having a baby sitting on a full bladder. I think actually that my office chair is a part of the problem - I felt much better yesterday on a day off at home w/DS all day and moving around into many more positions. It is definitely time to be done with long days at work, but I'm not quite done what I need to do, yet.

Right there with you MB. I have to limit myself to about two trips up and down the basement stairs doing laundry or else my pelvis just feels like it's going to split wide open and it hurts!
It's getting worse, I was really careful for a few weeks about getting dressed not standing on one leg, not doing laundry at all etc but now that I'm nesting I keep doing too much and I pay for it! I think I have at least a small case of PSD... it lends itself to fastor labors, or so I hear.

PS- I did try to find my cervix today
after using Purell and washing my hands super well and it's so mushy that I didn't recognize it at first!
It feels sooo different from a non-pg cervix for sure. I've had more twinges since then so I'm totally going to behave myself and keep my hands away.
