OK, my cervix is usually pretty high and was when I ovulated this cycle. On 3 dpo, though, it dipped down very low for less than a day, then the next day it was high again. I was having partial ferning through this and my cervix stayed somewhat soft and open. I don't have any accurate temps.
Any idea what this might mean? TIA

have you been taking ovulation tests? I talked to a NFP teacher a while back and she said that after you ovulate it should come back down to pre-o state. Perhaps you are having an anovulatory cycle.

ON the other hand, My cervix is wacky too, sometimes feeling soft for days after ovulation. I am peeing on the O-stick and they do come back positive once a month. So, maybe it's a hormone thing. Are you breastfeeding? I blame it all on breastfeeding for me unless or until I get pg or stop bf. I figure if I get pg while breastfeeding, I'm pretty lucky.

sorry, I know I'm not much help, but wanted to reply.

Thank you for the response! Oh, I hope hope hope this was not anovulatory, but that is completely possible---I got an IUD at 6wks pp and just had it taken out a few weeks ago. I thought I o'd based upon tons of ferning I saw with my microscope and because I am pretty certain I felt o pain. FF estimated that day and the two following it as my 'fertile days'.
I didn't have egg white cm until after the suspected o-day, though, and I have had some ferning pretty much ever since then. So, something's up.
We are still bf'ing, though not a lot...I hadn't thought it could do that.
Thanks for the info, though! Anyone else?

Without charting your temps and your cervical fluid, it's hard to say if it means anything at all. It could be your body tried to ovulate and didn't and then was trying again. This is not uncommon and doesn't mean anything bad. Were you under unusual stress just before you were supposed to ovulate?

How many months have you monitored cervical position? Could there be variations normal to you that aren't quite textbook?
