No rules! It doesn't have to be $45 for 6 people. Make it work for your family - something you can use quickly when needed.

Ok, well.. .let's see.. I live alone and I'm a picky eater but here goes. One week's worth of food.
Breakfast - pancakes daily- 1 box of just add water $1.59
1 sm. bottle pancake syrup $1.19

Buy one 10# turkey- use it for sandwich meat with the breast and make soup with the carcass and put the dark meat in the soup. $8.90

1 loaf bread for sandwiches- $1.50 for lunches

1 # pasta for the turkey soup for dinners $0.67
1# carrots for the turkey soup $0.59
1 onion for the turkey soup $0.20
tea bags for drinks- whether it be hot tea or iced tea total about 14 tea bags a week, twice a day- $0.25

Let's see, it isn't the healthiest meals but it's the worst either, although I could use with much more fruits and veggies. I don't drink juice since it's high in calories and costly.

Total for the week for me would be $14.89 plus tax.

Keep in mind, I don't eat beans or lentils and I was thinking about foods I was comfortable eating, not using ramen noodles for every meal, since it is something I don't eat.

Good idea! I don't have a whole menu but i love to make homemade corn tortillas, its so easy and cheap. I also buy dry beans, soak them overnight and then cook super fast in my pressure cooker. We like to mash up the beans, spread them on the tortillas, then add some cheese and make quesadillas. They are soooo tasty. Even my meat loving Dh loves this veg meal.

Maybe other people could share inexpensive recipes, since coming up with a whole menu is hard?
