I have a 2.5 year old daughter who has nursed to sleep her whole life. My DH and I think now she is ready to learn to go to sleep without it. He would like to be able to put her to sleep and I want her to know that she can go to sleep with him or on her own. Right now our routine is snack, books/PJ's with daddy and nurse to sleep in bed. I'm not exactly sure how to do the new routine. I think she is going to have a really hard time going from nursing down to having daddy put her to sleep... she is very much a mama's girl and always has been. She is also a very high energy child who doesn't like to sleep, stays up late, and has a very hard time settling down. Should I try to change the routine to snack, nurse in the living room, and then read books in bed with daddy? Has anyone else tried doing this "switch" to dad putting your child to bed when they're used to mom doing it all the time? Thanks for your help!
