1) First 5 Days Rule: You are safe the first 5 days of your menstrual cycle if you had an obvious temp shift 12-16 days before.

2) Dry day rule: You are safe to DTD after 6PM if you have been dry all day.

Post ovulation rules:

1) Peak day rule: the last day of fertile mucous is called the peak day (the day before your mucous begins to dry up). You are safe to DTD on the fourth consecutive day after the peak day. If another patch of more fertile mucous appears, start your count over.

2) Temperature shift rule: You are safe the evening of the third consecutive day your temp is above your coverline. If your temp falls at or below the coverline during the 3 day count, begin your count again.

BOTH rules must be satisfied to be considered in your infertile phase.

How to set a coverline:

When you see a temperature shift of at least 0.2 degrees F above the highest of the last 6 temps, draw a line 0.1 degrees F above that highest temp.

NP. I don't know why it came out centered, though. I'm not a computer whiz so I'm not going to mess with it.

I changed the formatting before I sent it to you - the one thread is centered, so I centered it. If you want to change it, click on edit, then go advanced and just press ctrl+a to select all, and then click the left align button at the top (near the U and under where it says fonts)

Mee too! I actually have really enjoyed learning how to avoid getting pg because I'm hoping it can also help me GET pg when I want to!
I'm thinking August/September...but I'll let y'all know!

I'm joining in this month. I was lurking last month, I've only been charting for a couple weeks, and so far it's all wonky. Probably due to coming off hormonal bc. Will put in the link to my chart when I get it all transfered from the notepad I'm keeping by the bed.

Well I am here. On CD 7. This cycle I am being extra careful. Last month we had an oops that scared me. Then I recently announced we were moving, and everyone and I MEAN everyone I told guessed I was pregnant. So out of complete and horrific fear of getting pregnant I might sit this cycle out completely LOL.

Hi ladies - thought I'd sub. We've been CTA for 28 months now.

As of now, we're unsure whether or not we'll ever have a #3 but aren't ready to make any permanent decisions. Charting's worked well for us -- both to avoid and to conceive my son.

Oh, ok. I don't care. I was just afraid I had done something that made it change. I'll leave it. I guess if I go advanced editing I'll figure out how to add people and their charts?

Everyone, you'll have to bear with me because I have no idea how to do all of that. I just wanted to start a new thread. Didn't realize I'd be in charge of adding people. I don't mind. You'll just have to give me time to learn. It may also take me a while to figure out who's new and needs to be added since I just joined a few days ago.

I'll change the months, too. I realized last night after I went to bed that I labeled the link on the old thread to the new one June. I didn't even look at the month on the front page. :

Now, on my chart stuff. I'm wondering if I could have ovulated already. This is my first cycle charting since having my baby a year ago. First PP bleed was the start of this chart. I never ovulate early. My average O day is cd24 or something like that. I missed a couple of temps and my temps are lower than usual for post-O but they look like they may have shifted up, my cm has dried up and my cp has gone back to not fertile. I also had pains a few days ago that I marked as cramping but noted could be O pains. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next few days.

Bodyfat that is too low can stop ovulation. The ideal percentage of bodyfat for women for fertility is at least 20% and I think maybe to 22 or 23% (not sure about the upper end). When I was ttc #2 I had to gain some weight because my bodyfat was too low.

BTW, I wanted to get clarification about your question about the one high temp. You said your temps after that dropped but you didn't say how far they dropped. I assumed you meant back down to the 97.5-97.7 range. If they stayed above 97.7, though, you may have ovulated.

Yes, the temps went back to 97.5-7.

I broke my arm Friday and had surgery, so now I have a low-grade temp, but I know I've not ovulated, so no worries about being pg with all the medication and stuff. Nursing was enough!

Subbing this month!

I'm CTA after I have had 2 highly irregular PP cycles. I'm EBF my 10 month old so that's messing with my cycle still... i'm now on CD 18 with no signs of ovulation but I had some fertile-quality cm CD 13-15 and then quickly dried up and no temp shift. My DS is going through a growth spurt and nursing non-stop so maybe that is suppressing ovulation? I'm not sure, I'm new to this but can't wait to see what's going on with my body!

Thanks for starting the new thread!

When you have a few spare minutes, you might change me from CTA 9 months to CTA since 9/07. That way it won't ever have to be changed again. I would ask you to put in the link to my chart, but that would be really mean since you're new and learning this posting business.

After my monster 5 month cycle, I had a totally normal (for me anyway) one!! Totally stoked about that and hoping for another.

mom2cash - I've added you to the list. If you have a chart or a start date you'd like me to add, let me know. Breastfeeding definitely affects fertility. After having my 2nd child I had several PP bleeds before actually ovulating. Then I ovulated one cycle, had one anovulatory cycle, ovulated again and may have had another anov cycle before becoming somewhat regular.

sk8termaiden - Updated your info and added your chart. Yours is the first Ovusoft chart I've seen on here.

Marinewife - If your temps are up for 2 more days, I would say you O'd on the 4th or 5th.

I am still on the same cycle from last month....thought I was on my way to O but not yet.
