Our chat threads get so long...seems like we all have lots of misc. stuff to chat about!!

So here we are heading into the halfway point. Some of us already there & some with a few weeks to go but essentially we are all about 1/2 way. It's pretty excitiing.

Has everyone found their 2nd trimester energy? I have it once I get up and get going but my motivation is a bit lacking. I'd rather sit and veg or take a nap. But once I get moving I'm fine. I'm also hungry ALL THE TIME!! And not making the greatest food choices.

My biggest thing is that my girls have been home sick. Started on Thursday dd#2 woke up vomiting and had a fever. DD#1 was fine and went to school but came home a few hours later with a low temp (100 or so) dd#2 proceeded to throw up and run fever all morning and into afternoon (lucky me I was at work and DH stayed home!) by Thursday night dd#1 spiked a temp well over 103. BUT dd#2 was feeling much better, hadn't thrown up was feeling hungry no temp. so we figured it would run its course. well...here it is Saturday and #1 is still spiking temps over 103. they come right down with tylenol I thought it would stop through the night since #2's ran its course in about 36 hours but so far it hasn't. and I can live with fever but once it starts pushing 104 I don't like it. As soon as the fever breaks she acts fine. I'm just hoping we don't get it. especially since I don't even know what it is!

We also had plans to go to Gainesville to visit my SIL and go to the bat festival. We were really looking forward to it but its not happening. Maybe I will actually get some housework done.

oh and I will be hitting Old Navy to get my 30% off and finally buy some long sleeve t-shirts to accomodate the belly.

I think I found my 2nd tri energy for about a week then everyone got sick. lol We got a stomach bug then I developed a sinus infection. I'm so ready to be better!! I'm having a hard time kicking this thing. I just can't get better.

I'm 18w today which is probably just a little under halfway for me since I will probably deliver around 37 weeks due to come complications I had last time. Halfway is exciting! It feels like it's going by fast and slow all at the same time!

I have my anatomy scan a week from Monday. I can't wait!!

Starcat-Hope your kids gets better soon! It's a rough time of year!!

16 weeks here, I'm on the tail end of the DDC. Feeling much better than I had a few weeks ago, over the nausea, but occasionally throw up if I've waited too long to eat or eaten junk food. So yeah, been eating pretty healthy because it's preventing me getting sick. Had my 16 week appointment yesterday and the midwife finally picked up the heartbeat (had an ultrasound to confirm the baby's presence at 11 weeks). She thinks the placenta is anterior and that's the reason why we have had a hard time finding the heartbeat. It was around 150-160 bpm. So exciting! I'm really hoping for a girl since DH is really adamant about being done with having kids after number 2. I already have a boy so if I have one of each I'll be much more content with being done. Next appointment is an ultrasound and finding out the sex!

I'm working a lot next week(I work in liquor promotions) to save some money for Christmas. I normally only work about 1 day a week, but I'll be working 4 days between now and Thanksgiving. They're short shifts but a lot of driving. Should be able to make enough money to pay for the rest of Christmas though, so that's taking a bit of the load off DH, plus I like getting out of the house and being around adults for awhile! :) That's about it here!

I have my u/s set up for Dec 10. We won't being finding out the gender. I like the surprise after all of that pushing. I will be 36 when this baby comes so they offered to have the perinatologist perform it and I've gone back and forth about it. For now, DH and I opted to just have the regular one done and roll from there.

I really need to get some Christmas shopping done. I have the start of some lists. I just need a couple hours by myself to accomplish it.

Starcat, that fever sounds like what my youngest just got over, it turned out that he had a raging ear infection that we didn't know about! THe only sypmtom was the fever that would come and go, get up to 103 or so and come down with Tylenol. He never even said anything hurt, so we were surprised.

18w5d today, feeling very tired since I just finished working 12 in a row yesterday and my workdays mean getting up at 3am. Luckily, my boss hired someone whom we hope will turn out to be my replacement for the super early mornings, so there is a light at the end of the getting up way too early tunnel!

We have our u/s the day before Thanksgiving, the kids are excited to get to see the baby and I'm hoping we can find out the sex, I like knowing way better than not (have done it both ways).

we did end up at after hours pediatrics and she is fine. ears and throat both look good. He said just let the fever go unless she is miserable (which she gets when it hits 102-103) and to be honest I just don't like it over 103! He said the stomach ache is probably from Motrin so only give her tylenol if we need to give her anything.

hasn't had anything all day and she is only at 100.8 now so maybe its getting better?!?!

I did make it to old navy and got a bunch of shirts. YAY!

Hey girls,

I'm 17w today- feeling pretty good, honestly the pregnancy is so easy to ignore! Since the time change our family has been getting up really early, and thus by evening I'm pretty tired. I'm trying to get my house back in order- I'm an artist and I just had a show- it's coming down tomorrow, and for the last few months I've been working so hard The house has really suffered, and it's difficult to get the motivation togetherto actually clean it. Today I had a really productive day, but most days I would just rather hang out with the kids and get through the day.

Sorry so many are sick! We've been battling minor colds, but that's it. I really don't want to get sick this winter :(

Hey guys!! You are my Saturday night 'fun' since there is nothing good on TV and I'm between netflix movies. Guess i could read but I love to catch up with my laptop in the evening....

No real winter sickness here yet; amazing.

I checked out our tiny mat section at old navy yesterday.... i love how they make the sizes smaller now. 6 years ago pg with #1 I wore a size 6 jean; now a 2 is falling off me. no, I'm not thinner!!! I am in love with my old navy fleece hoodie I purchased online. Even paid full price!! It's hard to find *warm* winter, stuff, I think.

Xmas shopping... I'm getting there! My only big order will be Nova Naturals. They did a coupon last year (or the year before?!) for 10 or 20% off around the holiday time.... think I'll have any luck with that this year?! I try to shop early b/c when all the holiday stuff goes up and the people come out, I panic and can't make any decisions. I am trying to limit things around here.

So after feeling huge for weeks, buying all this mat stuff in a medium (I'm usually a small) I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and it was like 'huh- I'm not really that big and I actually look nice!' Ahhhh- the bliss of the 2nd trimester!!!

It snowed here this morning; the coolest thing about 3 soon-to-be 4 kids is that I do not need to buy any winter gear... or gear at all from this point on. Just shop my basement! I had everything the kids needed for winter in storage, ready to go. I find that Hanna A stuff will last my girl two winter seasons and their snow pants are.the.best. If I can't get those on sale, I go for the $20 target cheapies! The only bummer for my girls is that all kids outerwear must come in gender neutral colors so that my boy can wear them.... so everyone wears a lot of blue. It was fun to dig out the baby outside stuff for Vivian. Seems like just yesterday when #1 was wearing that stuff!

The kids spent the day outside with dh and I cutting slab wood and stacking the wood he's been cutting with the sawmill. It felt great to work outside.I am trying not to tax my abs too much this time around... i'm all freaked out about permanent diastasis although I'm sure I'm about 3 kids too late to worry about this... but trying not to separate things further by working too hard.

Dh and I stopped at the mall last night. I asked him if we could walk around the mall, but instead took him to Macy's and we looked at maternity clothes. I wanted to buy a new pair of jeans, but didn't find any that I liked. I'm a D cup and so many of the shirts were not meant for someone who has boobage. I really don't need to have them hanging out at work. I did find 2 shirts that are appropriate for work and a pair of trousers. I'm taking them to my mom's today because they need to be hemmed. If she can't do that, then I'll take them back.

Then we went out to a movie and had a long dinner out where we could just talk and talk. Uninterrupted talk is uncommon at home so this was nice!

I'm 17w today and feeling really good. I've got energy, no more nausea (that disappeared around 11-12 weeks, yay! About a month sooner than my other pgs!). I've got a bump now that people are recognizing as a baby bump. Today at church two people who didn't know did the whole looking at it, and at me, then at it, and you could tell they were wanting to ask but not sure if they should. It was fun :D We'll be having what would be our anatomy scan thanksgiving week, even though we're not going to find out.

Sorry to those who have been sick, or had sick kids. That's no fun. Hope you all are on the mend soon! We haven't had much in the way of sickness here. We all had a cold last week, but it wasn't anything serious, mostly just snot and a cough.

Yay Christmas shopping! Due to budgeting, I've been doing about $50/wk worth of shopping for the past month or so. I'm about 75% done. Just have to make the stuff for DH's side of the family (beef jerky and granola, I think), so they can take it home when they visit next week for thanksgiving. Then I have a few more things for my kids, and a few things for my side of the family. And DH, if we decide to exchange gifts this year. It feels strange to be nearly done this far in advance! What will I spend December doing?!?! LOL

Wow, hugs and empathy for everyone who is sick or dealing with sickness in the home. That is not fun. We've had a congestion thing, and DS has had a cough but nothing that has held us up. I'm 16w and I have been slowly getting my energy back, but I tire easily. I also think I am working on a UTI (which I am prone to anyway) which is yucky. DS's birthday party was yesterday and I am wiped! We just had a small family party but they stayed all day! And today we went over to my parents so that DH could help my dad butcher a deer. So we just got home a bit ago and I am completely done in. And my bump is starting to really "bump". I've only gained a pound so I am confident that it is all (or mostly) baby but goodness! I am already having trouble bending over and getting down on the floor. I do a lot of squatting and bending when I play with DS and that is starting to get tiresome and awkward.

There must be something going around. My kid had a highish 102 temp last week, but luckily on veterans day when school was cancelled and i'd planned on being home anyway. seems like he always recovers by afternoon though, and he did this time as well. went from the lethargic, fevery kid to the wild, bouncing off the walls kid by 12. how does he do that!?

Can I share my excitement? Please oh please? I bought new boots :D

I visited a couple stores, one more than once, and finally settled on these. I'm pretty stoked. I have NEVER had knee high boots. I had some docs when I was a teen, and I think they were my last.

Snow!!! I have been having some serious snow hankerings these last few weeks, I have no idea why. Do you guys get excited about it at all, or is it just part of the norm for you?

Sara, those are awesome boots!

Amanda, congrats on your show!

We got a big dose fo snow here on Saturday, way more than we typically get for a first snow and so far, it has snuck around. We had to rummage around to find all of the winter stuff for the kids before they ran off to school today. LUkcily the stuff from last year still fits, but I think we will need to buy a couple pairs of snowpants for the older two. Not too bad overall.

We are actually way ahead on Christmas shoppinbg this year, I like it! I think we have a couple things for each kid and ideas for other family members, that's a good start for us!

I'm 19 weeks today and going in for a regualr m/w appt. I have to keep tabs on my thyroid pretty close, it has been erratic so far. I think I will take my 3yo so he can hear the baby's hb, I think he'll get a kick out of that since he always lays his head on my belly like he is trying to hear something. We have our u/s scheduled for next Wed, so hopefully we can find out the sex then.

I hope everyone starts to feel better! Sara, those boots are very cute! They look really comfortable too. I need to buy some boots for the winter as well. Everything I've seen has a short heel though and I can't manage that while pregnant. I haven't started any Christmas shopping yet but I've got ideas at least! That is a huge improvement for me. And it's nice to actually have extra money for gifts this year. We didn't last year and it was tough!

Yet another reminder why I need to stay away from non-crunchy pregnant people on FB. A friend posted that she'd just had her childbirth class and was a lot less scared of labor. Then another friend (who had her twins 2 weeks ago) commented "Thank God I had a C-section. It was such a breeze." SERIOUSLY????? Wish I could reach through the computer sometimes!!!

And KUDOS to you ladies who have started your Christmas Shopping. Anyone doing the Black Friday/Cyber Monday thing next week?

Thank goodness for mothering for like minded mamas, huh? It can be so hard to let stuff like that go.

Not much is going to get me out of the house on Black Friday, but Cyber Monday might entice me if there is a super good deal on a Wii or a tv.

Sara - fantastic boots! Really cute. I wore out my knee high boots that I wore in college. I would love to get a new pair but I need the wide shaft boots and bugger it they are hard to find! (and even harder to justify buying!)
Wow. I simply wouldn't be able to let that one go. My c/s took me months and months to recover from, it was a full year before I was pain-free. and now it is casting this huge shadow over this pregnancy! I know if one of my friends or friend of a friend said that I would speak up!

Had an ultrasound today and was hoping to find out the sex. :(

She says that based on babies size I am only 17 weeks... Ya but my LMP and OB says otherwise lol. I have lost about 15lbs so far so I think that might have contributed to baby being smaller but anyways she said it would be too early at 17 weeks to see the sex that well and the baby's bottom was down by my cervix anyways.Although she did not see any "Boy Parts". We are hoping for a girl after two boys but of course we will be happy with a boy also.

My placenta is anterior like I had thought. I can feel "Movement" but no kicks really. Anyone have this prior preg.? Does the movement get more pronouced later?

I have my OB appointment on wednesday so I can hear what my Dr has to say!

Sorry about the frustrating u/s! Was this your first u/s? I was told at 12w that my placenta was anterior but I don't know if it still is. I've felt a lot of bumps and knocks but no big kicks so I'm thinking it's still anterior. We'll see next Monday!

This is my second one with this pregnancy. The first one was just a quick check of the heartbeat because the placenta is muffling the sound of the heartbeat lol. I now know why they cannot pick up the heartbeat on the doppler.
