Ordered birth supplies! Still waiting on delivery estimate.

Can't find my earbuds and so I haven't done hypnobabies in about 2 weeks

Busy making more mamacloth for me and some dipes for the little. I've got some clothes DD has grown out of that I think I can repurpose into boyish hats and such.

Someone here(?) mentioned clothing lots on Ebay as a source for plentiful, cheap clothes. Thanks!

I finally put together and ordered a photobook of my first pregnancy and birth with DD. It should be here on DHs birthday, which is Thursday

Things are well here. I saw my OB this morning - measuring 29 weeks today...which I am, I guess, I had my EDD wrong! We talked about the placenta and encapsulation today. I'm having another u/s in three weeks to just double check everything.

Feeling great. My husband told me yesterday that I did a bit of the "pregnant lady waddle" in which I immediately adjusted my position to avoid it!!

Non baby news - I'm almost done Christmas shopping! Yay. I *will* be done by Thanksgiving so I can just enjoy December.

Dr put me on every 2wk appts now! I'm not ready for that, am I? We didn't do a 3wk spacing between them. Ah well, I didn't complain b/c this week I see the neurologist and then will see my OB the following week and we can talk about the neuro.

I have a neurology appt tomorrow to start the process to see what is causing the "episodes" I've been having.

I monitored my blood sugars for a week and took the results in last week. Dr said they were good numbers. He was supposed to take a closer look at my cervix b/c of some abnormality in my pap, but after looking at the lab results he said there was no need the "abnormal" was normal and not of any concern (yay).

Baby's moving all around, hyperactive most of the time! lol

I'm trying not to worry about the neuro, but that's hard not to do.

I have been on every two week appts for a month now. I have another appt this week as well as an u/s to check for growth. Everything else is about the same.

All the children, and me, are getting over strep. Lots of fun. And now the boys are a bit "under the weather". I am hoping that it is the CP, since the timing would be right for that.

Oh, well. Time is running out. I have only 27 days left until I can UC! (Although I hope to go all the way to Jan 1.) Even that is only about 60 days!

Nigella (DD) is driving me bonkers, but I'm building up some awesome arm muscles from lugging her around the whole bloody day.

I see my OB sometime in the next couple weeks, I need to check my calendar. At that point the twice monthly appointments are SUPPOSED to start, but since I'm so boring and have only been going every 6 weeks thus far, I'll bring it down to 3-4 weeks apart.

I'm planning DD's birthday party for the end of the month. I'm planning to do birthday stuff (cake, presents, etc) but also roll it into an American Thanksgiving meal. I have a turkey sitting in my freezer waiting to be cooked and I have the desire to play hostess. Also I think that knowing we're having guests will help DH do SOMETHING useful, as far as cleaning and decluttering goes.

Also planning a trip back to see my family - they live about 8 hrs away- for mid-November. Should be... fun... or something. My family is typically full of drama so we'll see.

Kidz- fingers crossed for CP!
Caefi- Good luck with the neuro! Hopefully they can figure out whats wrong and have it be something totally simple and easy to fix. `
AfricanQueen- I'm not bothering Christmas shopping... DH's family knows we're broke for the next 3 months and would be offended if we tried to give them stuff, and my family doesn't do Christmas anyway.
Falicia- what pattern are you using for mamacloth? I tried making one and it was SO bulky that i haven't bothered since. Of course, finding time to do anything like that is virtually impossible but I hate sposie pads. They give me a rash.

I started on 2 wk appts today. Went to the OB and some things were better, some not. He did an U/S and my placenta has moved up and is completely out of the way. Baby is in a completely breech position, feet on my bladder, head between my ribs. Could be accounting for the terrible reflux I have been having. I should hear the results of my 1hr glucose test soon as I took that today too.

On a bad note, I have gained way too much weight and continue to gain. I gained six pounds in the last two weeks and my B/P is up but not a concern yet, he said. He has told me to go high protein, low carb and see if that helps with the weight gain. (Except I have this whole bag of halloween candy in my house now. ) I also got antibiotics for a sinus infection that developed after that horrible cold. I hope I start to feel better now.

Other than that, baby is great and I am doing good - stressed about money and jobs but such is life. Thank goodness we can move back in with the in-laws if we can't pay rent next month. Not something I want to do but at least we have family to fall back on. I am starting to think about the birth a little bit but its kind of scary at this point, especially since DH is leaving soon after and I will be on my own. I'm kind of avoiding thinking about it - baby being born means he's leaving and I don't like connecting such a positive thing with a kind of negative thing. Oh well, we will survive....

I use the Fern and Faerie Pattern. It's super easy and I like the fact that you can interchange and customize the patterns. I tried several freebies but I really need serious directions and pictures when I sew... I'll post some pics when I get around to it. I'm working mostly on post partum cloth.

I just did an awesome nb diaper with snaps and I was all excited, then I realized that I put all snap sockets (instead of studs) on the wings. It should NOT take 4 hours to sew a diaper! I've already ripped out 20 snaps.

How frustrating with the diaper snaps!

I am now finally in the third trimester (27 weeks)! Had a midwives appointment last week, and all is looking good. Fundus is measuring a bit ahead (at 30 cm instead of 26.5 cm), but they are not concerned. Had a nice time trick or treating with the kiddos for Halloween.

I have gotten some good news in the last week... my grandmother was diagnosed with Cancer last month and it is very aggressive. She had a scan done 3 weeks ago and they said that they would either call her for an appointment to get ready for surgery or an appointment with the specialist if it was too advanced (and could not be operated on)... she got the call last week, had her prep and is going in for surgery tomorrow... the specialist said that without surgery she would have about 6 months... I am so happy... my grandma is such an amazing woman and is in such great shape for her age... Here is a pic I took last week (she is 86)

Besides that I am doing good... My SPD is killing me but it is still manageable in the day... I just need to take it easy and not walk too much, if I do, I have trouble moving for a few days...

I am almost done my Xmas shopping for the boys... I just need to find a gift for my mom and a little something for DH.... We are making things easy this year and doing the "Something you want, something you need, something to wear, something to read" rule with the gifts for the kids... most of it has been either bought or we know exactly what we will get so we just need to order/pick it up... I have a tradition of giving a PJ to my mom and vice versa so that also takes the guess work out, I just need to go get it...

The winter tires have been on the car for weeks, the snow removal is paid, the boys all have snow gear ready and we are pretty much prepared that way...

I still haven't prepared anything for baby though... I need to get the clothes out of the shed and declutter it all (we have way too much clothes for each age) and I need to figure out something for the older boys clothing because the baby will get the baby dresser which means one less dresser for the older kids...

I honestly don't have that much to do though.... we co-sleep, EC, breastfeed, baby wear and don't have/want/need any of the gear...

Paxye- awesome news about your gma!

I plan to EC this baby (I didn't read about it with DD until she was about 7 months. I keep meaning to start trying with her, but I'm so baffled about where to start at her age so I haven't bothered) and for some reason I'm SCARED to try. IDK why. But I'll give it a decent go, anyway.

Hehe, DD is unloading the wipes case and wiping the dog with them. I maybe SHOULD mind and take them away, but I'm mad at her for not napping (PLEASE child, just SLEEP! Sometime! Please!) and they're the stupid cheap brand that gives her a rash anyway, so now I at least have a good reason to throw them out.

I have an unexpected dentist appointment tomorrow - ugh. A piece of a back molar broke off a few weeks ago. I was going to leave it until after baby but then decided to go ahead and get it fixed as I likely won't have time or the desire to get to a dentist any time soon after the baby is born. Checked with m/w and dentist and both have assured me that all will be fine and not harmful to me or baby. I still hate the idea though.

Is anyone dealing with aching legs/hips still? Mine only hurt at night but it is so painful that it wakes me up! I tried pre-natal massage (only once but it didn't seem to help at all), I take calcium/mag/vit. D nightly, I try and stretch, etc etc Any suggestions?

Chiropractor? If it's a misalignment that's causing the aching, a chiro should be able to adjust it.

I've been doing gingivites cleanings throughout pregnancy. I've gone for 2 treatments so far and still have one more on the 12th. I have some cavities, etc, but they don't want to touch those until after i've had the baby. I also need gum grafting but they won't do that until i'm done breastfeeding... God knows when that'll be!

I hate going to the dentist

caefi - how'd it go at the neurologist?

paxye - great news about your grandma And way to go on being winter organized.

EC - we ECd DD from just after birth till about 10 months, when she lost all interest in it. Looking back now, I suppose I should have encouraged her to keep going (since we were catching nearly every time), but it was starting to feel like a power play and that seemed antithetical to the whole EC value system. I think we'll try again with this babe, but in the mean time I'm having fun sewing diapers. WHen I'm not ripping out the snaps

Carmen - my legs don't ache but the other day I was doing the suggested inversion on the Spinningbabies.com website and instantly, everything felt much better.

Paxye, I'm glad your grandma can do the surgery. She is so amazingly full of life in that pic, I love it. Makes me miss my gram.

Falicia, my sewing machine has conspired against me for dipes. I'm giving them a break for now.. it's so annoying! But the thread keeps jamming up or snapping, and then I'll use the same thread for another project and no problemo. Oh well, time to make a nursing cover, sling and diaper bag anyways! Good luck with that dipe, hopefully the rest of them will be a breeze!

AFM, things are going well but the daylight savings switch has really thrown me for a loop. I'm going to bed according to the clock, but DS is waking up according to his internal clock! ay-yi-yi! And the early darkness just makes me want to go crawl in bed and do nothing for the rest of the day. I'm 31 weeks, and seeing the MW every 3 weeks now I guess. I'm seeing her Thurs. and bringing DS without anyone to help me. Yikes! Hopefully we'll all survive that visit I need to get cracking on the rest of my Christmas shopping too, Angela, my goal is to be done by the first weekend of December, sooner would be good too! And we are going to join the 'Xmas tree right after Thanksgiving' crowd, we usually wait til mid-December but I want that puppy in and the house decorated pronto! Time really feels like it's zooming by, and my energy level is certainly not keeping up!

I agree that a chiro has made a huge difference in my chronic pain this pregnancy versus my 1st, when I didn't see one until I was 37 weeks and hobbling because of the pain. I see a chiro every 2 weeks and have had very little hip/back pain this pregnancy .

Kudos to you mamas getting a jumpstart on holiday shopping my hat's off to you. I have not even started, although I have a mental list going. It's easy to think of stuff for DD... it's all the grownups in my life I have to worry about!

So, last week I think I mentioned that we are looking into buying a house. I think we decided last night NOT to do it. We got preapproved for a loan and saw several properties, but unfortunately to stay in the area we currently live, to get what we Really Want in a home, we would have to max out our budget (and we'd still not be getting what we REALLY want, a back yard!). We decided it might be smarter and better to spend some time and money on the condo we do live in (which we rent at an extremely affordable price from a friend) to make it work better for our growing family. I'm very disappointed not to have a yard for my kids, but in a few years, when I'm done with graduate school, I think we can make that happen. SIGH!! Being grown up and mature and responsible STINKS sometimes!!

This does mean that hopefully we'll do some exciting projects around the house, like install laminate flooring in the living areas (our carpet is disgusting, and we don't have a dining area set up because I think it's ridiculous to have a table on carpet when you have a toddler!).

In pregnancy news... I was supposed to have a prenatal this week but my midwife got sick, so I'm rescheduling that for sometime in the next 2 weeks. I think at this point we kick up to 2x/month. I'm definitely feeling kind of big but I know I have sooo far to go. I've stopped obsessing about the baby's position and am trying to be very zen and cool about it. It will work out.

I like how we have all kicked into high gear with our posting! This is starting to feel like a real community now .

caefi, How did your neurologist appointment go? I hope everything is OK.

Kidzaplenty, glad you and your kiddos are recovering. That's the last thing you need is a house full of sick kids when you're sick yourself.

Payxe, glad your grandma is doing well! I do miss my grandmas. And my DP's grandma is just not the same. Sniff.

That would totally happen to me. I did the snaps on opposite sides of the last baby thing I made - so one snap has the socket on the left and the next snap has the socket on the right. At least it still works!

I have been having some hip pain, too. It got *a lot* better when we put an extra duvet (comforter) under our top sheet, so we are sleeping on extra cushiness.

My main sleeping problem is that my right leg keeps falling asleep when I am trying to get to sleep on my left side. Having had a baby who rotated from right anterior to posterior before, I would like to get this baby to my left, but I am not sure how that's going to happen given that I can't sleep on my left. Have to see about some Spinning Babies tricks.

I have a MW appointment this week - it will be the first time I have seen my main MW since July! I saw someone else from her group once when she was on vacation and my GP once. I am keen to get her feedback on what the OB is recommending as far as my platelet levels and place of birth... I don't go to 2-weekly appointments until 34 weeks, which still seems like a long time from now (I am 29 weeks this week), but I know it will come up quickly. Only seven weeks of work left! Woot!

time is definitely zooming by now i think!! it's crazy.

we have most of everything we need, our son has moved to his new room and the nursery is ready (although i expect this new babe to sleep with us for a while). we just started cding our son in prep for cding the new babe, so i am having fun researching and getting diapers in the mail. dp thinks i am crazy, lol. last night i installed the sprayer/potty pail in the bathroom and i LOVE IT!!

dp's work laid off another 10 people on monday. thankfully she was not one of them but it really sucked for those who were let go - some of them with families and no other means of income.
