I was wondering if those of you who do vermicomposting can point me in the direction of some cheap worms? I'm hoping to start a worm compost bin but need worms first!!

You can buy them online, but shipping tends to jack up the price. If you don't mind starting out with only a few, you can get around 50 for $5 at PetSmart.

Wilson's Worms was about the cheapest I found for the recommended pound to start with. They shipped pretty quick too

thanks for those ideas!! Does anyone know approximately how many worms are in a pound of worms?! Debating on the Petsmart thing or searching for other local cheap sources..

I use Uncle Jim's worm Farm, local for me. I beleive a pound is about 1000 worms. I can double check my copy of Worms Eat my Garbage for sure.
