Priesthood didn't always require celibacy, and neither did the papacy. By 1145 celibacy was standard for priests, although widowers could be ordained. (According to Jaroslav Pelikan, Growth of Medieval Theology, 209). So that's a good number of years for non-celibate popes.

Yeah. I have distant family in Canada that showed up on my Grandfather's doorstep a number years ago. Grandpa took them to his mom and she about passed out because the man looked JUST like her late husband. Their hobby was traveling to places they knew our family had resided and mapping out the tree. Anyhoo, it's quite extensive and a really interesting read.
