<p>I have been a lurker her at MDC until recently.  Last Monday I received a BFP and was so excited.  On Thursday night I started to spot and then on Friday it resulted in full blown bleeding.  I estimate I was around 5-6 weeks along.  But it is still painful.  I had just called my midwife that I was interested in on Thursday morning and have yet to hear back.  But in the meantime I am bleeding pretty heavy and passing large clots.  I use a Diva cup and get about 7.5 ml every four hours and it has been this way since Friday.  It is like a heavy AF but for 3 days.  My question is how long will this last?  Should I call my FP?  Will I need a rhogam shot?  I am RH-.  I read that if you MC you need to get one of these.  Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.  Thanks.</p>

<p><span>i'm so sorry. no matter how far along you are, losing a baby is very painful. i would definitely call your fp asap and ask what to do. if it gets heavier and more painful, you may want to consider heading to the er. i'm sure some ladies here will have more and better advice for you.</span></p>

<p>So sorry for your loss Mama.  I only wanted to add that you do need to get the Rhogam shot...I think sooner the better.  I can't remember but there is a certain # of days/hrs that you should get the shot once you start bleeding.  </p>

<p>A chemical pg is defined at 21 dpo or less (I believe). So 5wks and over is a regular m/c. Regardless a loss is a loss is a loss. I am so sorry you are having to deal with this .</p>

<p>Thanks you all.  I never received a call back from the MW that I called.  So I am just going to wait and see.  My bleeding has slowed way down to almost nothing so I am good to go there.  I appreciate your thoughts and comments.  I did not tell anyone about my BFP or my MC.  I am doing OK with it so far.  I appreciate being able to lean on my MDC friends.  I just don't want to tell anyone and get the "look" or have anyone make a huge deal over it.  I am just not comfortable with that.  I have an appt with my GP in a few weeks so I will just talk it over with her when I go in.  I did some research about the Rhogam shot and you have to get it within 72 hours of the MC so by the time Monday came, I was out of the window anyway.  Not to mention I am not sure how I feel about vac anyway.  Thanks again everyone.  I wish you all sticky babies!!!</p>

<p>I know this is a few days old, but I really think you should still call your doctor regarding the rhogam, even if you're outside the window. I'm not sure if they can do anything, but if you build up antibodies because of your Rh factor it could threaten future pregnancies. Rhogam isn't exactly a vaccine - it's a blood product specifically tailored for you.</p>
