yes i will admit, i know NOTHING about trees or nature or anything of the sort...i'm a city girl
but we moved to the burbs, and we have a lovely cherry tree in our backyard. last year, we only had a few cherries that disappeared pretty quickly. this year, the tree is bursting with them! we are interested in picking them but we don't know anything...dh asked if they are okay to eat, even. so what do i do? when are they pickable? and what do i do with them after that? i'm interested in making a pie, but i don't know how to do it with fresh cherries...

thanks!!

i have picked cherries off trees and popped them in my mouth and ate them, tho carful of the pit, if you want to make a whole pie you might want to get a charry pitter, i have only seen them in catalogs but they are used to take the pits out and look easier than doing it all by hand
