I live in the far northern suburbs of Chicago.

In late August, early September, I'm going to start watching my neighbor's baby, as she returns to work. The baby will be around 4-5 months old (depending on when I start.

I'm wondering what I should charge her. We want to do a weekly charge, rather than hourly, so we don't have to worry about keeping track of hours. She works from home, right across the street, so she'll be able to continue to nurse on demand (for the most part), so not many bottles to mess with, and what bottles I need to give her will be EBM. She is also cloth diapering (I'm still wondering how I managed to get such a like-minded neighbor!
), which I have no problem wth.

I plan on calling some local day cares, but would love to hear from some local mamas on this one as well.

I work in Schaumburg and my 3 yo goes to a home daycare with a preschool curriculum and it is 200/week. I think it will be going up soon though.

I previously took him to a woman who just did daycare (no school aspect to it) from her home and she was only 170....but then again she also wasn't licensed and didn't claim the money on her taxes. I paid that from 10 weeks to 2 years.
