DD has it. I've been told it's going around. If anyone in the area would like to expose their DC, please PM me with your email address and we'll set something up. DD will be contagious for 2 or 3 more days.
Oh, the timing just stinks for me right now, otherwise I'd be knocking at your (mailbox) door right now! I hope she's feeling okay.
We're leaving for a week next Tuesday, for Country Fair, and the IL's are coming to take dd to the beach for a few of those Fair days. I just don't think they'd appreciate it if we purposefully got her sick before they came all this way.
Maybe someone else will have it in a couple weeks??
OK, I know this is niave, but I thought they vax'd for that these days... Did your dd get it because you don't vax, or did you get it pre-vax? I'd love to get ds to get it pre-vax, but it's waaaay to early right now... Another couple years, though, and I'm all over it.
We partially vax, but not for chickenpox. Apparently neither do many people in our neighborhood, 'cause it's certainly going around right now. I'd rather our kids have it young and have natural immunity than risk getting it in adulthood. DD is 2.5 and is handling it very well. The only hitch is I'm pregnant and was supposed to have a c/b today (trying for a VBAC, but my window ran out), but we put it off until next week (yay!). I certainly don't want to expose a newborn.
My DD had it just prior to turning 1. It was great, natural immunity not coordinated enough to really scratch. Just a week of the fussies and almost constant :bf
you can actually get it from the vax which may be a problem too...I wouldn't touch the vax for anything...but then again..I am anti-vax all the way around. Maybe if it is going around we will catch it some other way.
