Chicken Pox

399 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  UmmBnB
I have a dd 8 months old who has not been vaxed. My MIL and 11 year old BIL are coming out for a visit from Minnesota. He has had the Chicken pox..a week ago today he broke out with the spots- and the week before that he was sick without knowing what it was ( he has been vaxed!)
Anyway- I am worried about him still having the virus and giving it to dd. I am all about her getting them, just not so young. He went back to school today and seems to be fine- I just have read that it can stay in your body for up to a month- I would love some input on what to do!!

As long as the spots are scabbed over (which I'm sure they are if they let him back in school) then he's not contagious.

...and I might add, cp is not that easy to catch anyway. She'd have to share a lolly or
eat one of the pox....

I just thought I'd throw something in to consider, although he's probably scabbed at this point. I had a chance to expose my ds when he was about your child's age and I didn't. Now he's 5 and I've never gotten another chance...until today that is, I'm waiting to hear back from a potential!

I've regretted not exposing him when I had that first chance ever since.
