I am trying to expose my child to the Chickenpox (he is not getting vaccinated). So far he has been exposed twice (2 different kids) but he hasn't gotten the Chickenpox. Is it possible that my breastfeeding is protecting him from the virus? I had Chickenpox when I was a child. My son is 18 months old and he nurses twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night. Does anyone know of a kid who got chickenpx while he/she was still nursing?

My middle dd got the chicken pox when she was nursing but my immunities were from the vaccine because I never had the chicken pox as a child and when my titer came back negative in grad school I chose to get vaccinated. Anyway the vaccine might not offer the same protction that the actual disease would.

My son had chickenpox in January (he was 5 months old and EBF). It was sooo mild we didn't even clue in that it was the pox until my daughter came down with it.
I don't know if it was enough to make him immune, I have heard conflicting stories about it.
