Anyone up for a chickenpox party? My 3.5-year-old just got the first spots today, and it's expected to last for 10 days. There could be music, games, and snacks! PM me if you'd like to come by!

OMG, I'm not immune to chickenpox and I'm pregnant so stay far, far away! I have been so paranoid about getting them while pg so I'm glad we haven't been able to meet at the park lately. :LOL

I hope Linda feels better soon and gets enough of a case to stay immune forever

Happy Belated birthday to Andrea too!

Don't worry, we're staying home...the doctor said not to take her out of the house at all; not even to the store!

And it's still Andrea's birthday today, so it's not belated!

ACK WHAT TO DO! I really would prefer that she get them - I didn't get them til I was 23 and that SUCKED - but our next 2 weeks are so busy with big kid stuff - for the boys - and I dont know if it's fair to drag her around town when she's contageous (sp?)... and we would both prefer her to get them - but darn it all - it's never a good time for the chicken pox right? ACK! LOL

If/when she does get them please don't drag her around town. It could kill my baby if I get them
I've been so worried about it this time. I may stay away from places where there are kids until further into the summer.

No, don't come get ours if you have traveling to do. I'm lucky that I can keep her home all day.

I assume the doctor would have told me if I was going to be contagious as well as dd...
I already had the 'pox.

Aw Lindsay I thought it was a given - I don't know if this is a good time for her to get them because I'd have to keep her at home - and I wouldn't drag a congateous (or however you spell that) baby around.

That being said - the pox is all over town right now - The cases I heard about were spread from either the baby room at a church or the moms day out program there. Last week some of the moms at story time were telling me about outbreaks there too.
I got them when I was 23 and they were horrible!

I'm just super paranoid
I figured it was a given, but one of those things I felt I had to say anyway. I'm glad to at least know its all over town right now. I will definately be laying low for the next month. I hear spring is the worst time for the pox, so hopefully they will go dorment soon!

I'd love to come--we're up in Newberg. It would almost be worth the drive. On the other hand baby is only 8 months old and we are getting ready to have our adoption finalization party, so maybe not a good time.
When is a "good" age for the kiddos to get it? I forget the range.

we've got the pox here too

Hunter got them from a baby girl n the church nursery (NW Hills). He's over then now, but on Friday Austin got them. I've been stuck in thehouse. It blows! I can' believe the irresponisble people who take their kiddos out to infect the other babies! Hunter hadn't even turned 1 when he got them.

I feel so bad for my little men.
