We start our childbirth classes tonight! We have 5 2.5-3 hour classes this month that are specially tailored for home birth. I am so excited!! It's getting closer!!

That's exciting! Are they run by your midwife?
We did a one day course at The Motherhood Center in Houston.
DH and I found it really funny/annoying how whiny some of the other Moms-to-be were!
The Center is a great post-natal resource for lactation consultants, classes etc though.

Yeah, the classes are run by my midwife Kellie Moeller and another midwife Pat Jones. I hear that there is alot of information that they teach in those 5 classes.

I was just telling DH the other day not to expect the other "Mom's to be" to be like me. I have had a great pregnancy, no real discomforts to speak of, etc. I was telling him that that isn't necessarily the norm.

I wish I had found home birth centered classes to take. We just finished up our Bradley series, and while I did enjoy it, I was hoping it would be more home birth centered... I was the only one in class having a home birth. Most of the moms are birthing in a hospital with a midwife, and one other mom is birthing at a free standing birth center. I felt like a lot of it didn't really apply to me because it is really geared towards teaching you how to advocate for yourself and avoid interventions... plus, I was the only one in class who has a child already. The first time around I took the hospital classes with my mom because hubby and I were separated, so this time I wanted us to take a class together...
