I have a three year old who suffers from eczema and asthma as well as allergies to milk, tomato and egg.
I am trying to stay away from nasty stuff inc the steroid creams.
His face is quite severely affected.

I would love to hear from those who deal with childhood eczema.

My 13-month old boy twin has eczema. I dress him in 100% cotton, and switched from disposables to cloth. For bathing, I use oatmeal only on his body, and just the smallest amount of Aveeno Sensitive Baby on his hair. After bath, I slather him with Aveeno lotion and apply a prescription creme to the bad areas and Burt's Bees to the not-so-bad areas. The incessant drooling around teething time causes awful breakouts on his chin.

Good luck - we've managed to keep Dylan's fairly under control but it always breaks my heart when he has a breakout - it looks so uncomfortable.

Claire's face only cleared up after we found out all 16 things she's allergic to. Once that was eliminated she looks so much better.

We are trying to stay away from the steriod creams as well. my 7 month old has severe eczema all over his face. He is breast fed but is allergic to eggs and peanuts. Took almost everything out of my diet but he still looks terrible. It is so hard to find doctors who want to help find the cause. They are all so quick to pull out their RX pad. Anyone know of any support groups for parents with babies with eczema? It takes such a toll on the family.

: We didn't use the cod liver oil, but I didn't know about it at the time.

We used lotion too, a homemade naturopathic product containing olive oil, beeswax and things like calendula and chickweed. It worked better on their eczema than the awful steroid creams, and it felt good too. We use it to this day, even though they don't have eczema, for bites, scrapes, rashes, etc.

I know there are sources for it online from WAHMs. If you'd like the recipe to make yourself, you could PM me.

I came across your problems with children with eczema and I know of some products that have really worked for children with eczema, in fact I had my sister use it on her grandson because all the creme's and medications from the doctor's didn't work. I gave her this product and it worked and some pediatricians are starting to recommend it to their patients. These products are pure, safe, and beneficial. They are botanically based, hypoallergenic, no mineral oil, dematologist tested, no animal products or by products and they have no chemical dyes or fragrances. There are multiple testimonials about this product. I am a grandmother, mother, nurse, and I felt I needed to share this information with everyone. Let me know if you want more info.
