Argh, I'm so annoyed. Posting this in hopes that it may help someone else who wants to get insurance in anticipation of the baby coming.

I went to the chiropractor for the first time a couple of months ago just to have him check things out, see if my hips are aligned, etc. The appointment went fine, he wanted me to come back regularly as they all do from what I can tell, but I didn't have any major issues.

Shortly after we applied for life and disability insurance. The life insurance was approved, but I just got a letter saying that the disability insurance was approved at a worse rate/category than what I applied for because of my "back issues". WTF? I don't have any back issues! ARGH, sooo annoyed. I wish I had never gone to the chiro in the first place, or at least waited until late pregnancy and after the insurance stuff went through. I'm waiting to hear back from the agent to see just how much this will cost us, maybe it won't be so bad in the end. :

That doesn't sound right. I've been seeing a chiropractor for a long time and didn't have any trouble with disability. I would call the chiropractor and ask for a letter stating it was due to pg, and follow up with the insurance company. This doesn't seem right at all.

It reminds me of late in my pg when I got a call from a nurse with my insurance company, wanting to talk to me about managing my back "problem". I assume this is to keep their costs down. I told her my chiro visits were pg related and they left me alone.

Hmm, that's good to know, thanks! I'll try to get some more details and a letter and see if that changes anything.
