Not sure if you had seen this news story. It happened in February but is in the news because of the litigation.<br><br><a href="http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/news_press_release,141642.shtml" target="_blank">http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/s...e,141642.shtml</a><br><br>
Mentioned it to my dh to help add to his basis for support for our decision to not circ. He's still adjusting to the idea, but on board, fortunately. Anyway, I find it helpful to be reminded that this stuff happens during circs.

That really sucks hard. The poor boy... <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/gloomy.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Gloomy">:<br><br>
I wonder if there could ever be a precedent set for a boy/man to sue his parents, doctor and hospital for performing a routine circumcision that had no complications except for the complicated matter of "lack of informed consent."

I don't think so. Parents make informed consent decisions all the time for other procedures, some cosmetic/elective and some not. Children don't have to (aren't deemed capable - certainly not infants) of making informed consent. So parents are the parties who have to consent and choose a procedure for a child (or not). I just don't ever see that working as a legal argument.

Didn't the restoring guy on the Penn & Teller show sue his Dr & get a settlement? I don't know the details though.

I am handling three such cases at the moment and have handled one other. The Mogen clamp has a significant risk of glanular damage/amputation.

I agree, but, sadly, we can't even get that graphic circumcision video stickied, so people just bump it. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/dizzy.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Dizzy">:
