Do any of you have issues with your child being sensitive to citrus. My DDs skin was looking really bad and my lactation consultant said to eliminate dairy first and then citrus. I haven't had citrus in about a week and it is getting a lot better. Just wondering...I know the dairy is a big one since my first DD had some sensitivity to it.

i talked to my doctor this week and have eliminated dairy and citrust too! he said citrus is a big iritant along with strawberries. i think it is the dairy that is helping my DD (but i wasn't eating that much citrus to begin with). i am glad her LO is getting better, so is mine. it feels so good!!

Yes, I have heard positive experiences with removing citrus.

My younger two DD's (different dad from older two) have had citrus problems. I blame DH! I had a nasty virus last week, and I was craving OJ so bad. I was on the phone with DH after he was off work, telling him my OJ fantasies... All I wanted was a big glass full!

Yup, while I drank orange juice DD's bottom was constantly red and nothing would fix it. Then I switched to cranberry and it was even worse. Then I got smart and started drinking *water*. My appetite was so low in those first weeks after she was born that I used the juice to take in extra calories but red bottom wasn't worth it!

DH is mildly allergic to citrus so that might have been a factor too.

My first baby definitely reacted to citrus! She outgrew it, but I had to avoid it completely for a good while.

I was recommended lemon water as a dietary supplement, but our six month old daughter has been very irritable ever since I began. She's definitely also teething, but we can't figure out where teething discomfort ends and citrus sensitivity begins. we've read that citrus can cause intestinal irritation but we've also seen things that say that after she's six months old or so, it shouldn't bother her any more. any recommendations?
