He was just waking up from his nap yesterday and I decided to try so I took out the pacifier and stuck in my bb and he sucked for about a minute. I was soooo happy. Then he realized what was in his mouth and started fussing. Again today I did the same and this time he sucked for about 4 minutes. Too bad I had just pumped cuz I didn't have much left in my breast. Oh well, I will just keep trying.!!!
My history is this. I breastfed my ds with suppliments for 3 1/2 months. I needed to suppliment due to weight loss on his part. I then got what I thought was thrush but was actually excema and was in alot of pain and bleeding and such so took the easy way out and started to give more and more bottles till my supply dwindled and my ds wouldn't nurse anymore. I decided to try to relactate(actually rebuild my supply as I had some milk) and started with a sns but he wouldn't take. I am renting a lactina and pumping. did the fenugreek and blessed thistle until I got my domperidone 3 weeks ago. I have gone from 1/2 oz a day to about 5-7 oz of ebm. I am desperatly trying to get my ds back to breast but right now he really is having nothing to do with it. He has lactched on once with apple juice mixed with water in the sns and twice while he was waking up from his nap. I am walking around my house topless and braless and cosleeping and taking baths with him. We lay in bed when he's not tired and play and he will grab my bb and bring them towards his mouth but when he gets them in he makes a face and gets fussy. I sooo want to nurse him again. I will just keep trying and trying. If not I will pump for him as long as I can.
I just saw this and...YAY!!! That's great. It sounds like your supply is kicking off. I'm only up to about an once/day, but it's getting there. I think once he realizes that it's gonna fill his belly, he will stay on longer. Keep trying. Try to get him to latch before every feeding. If he does'nt then that's ok. Just keep repeating and he will figure it out.
