I realize this may be a FAR stretch but is there any other MDC mama's here in Clallam county? Am I the only one? I know there are some mama's in Kitsap area but anyone this far north.

I am a widowed mama with three kidlets and we would like to find some like minded families in the area.

Sadly, I'm in the greater Seattle area. I'm from Port Angeles originally and quite a bit of my family is still there. In fact, I'm headed up to Lake Crescent for a little R&R this weekend. I know there are quite a few crunchy moms in the Port Angeles area that frequent these boards. I just saw danotoyou2 post on another thread that she's in PA. Sorry I can't help more, I just wanted to let you know there are crunchy mamas out there, hopefully you'll here from them soon!

Wow, I'm feeling very... noticed.

Yes, I live in PA, and it does seem like there's never anyone on here from Clallam county. I'm a mom to a great little boy (14 months), have another due in August (eek!), and am married to a mostly like-minded guy.

I'm not a self described 'crunchy' person, but... I breastfed my boy, don't circumsize, eat organic/whole/natural foods, cosleep, mostly-vegetarian, and will probably homeschool. So, most people would call me crunchy but I prefer to call it smart. Haha.

Is3enough, where do you live?

Wow, I honestly didn't think anyone would answer this!

danotoyou2 I grew up here (Port Angeles) and spent the last 4 years living in Olympia till my husband passed away in December then I moved back. I have discovered about myself that I am too 'natural' for mainstream and too mainstream for the "natural" folks. If that makes any sense! Right now I am living between the bridges but in a few weeks I am moving to a house near the dream playground.

There is me and the three kiddos and I have breastfed all of them till they were each over 2 1/2 (baby still nurses), cloth diapered 2 of them, I wear mama cloth too, my boys aren't circ'd, we co-sleep (me and the baby all the time and one or both of the boys when they can manage to sneak in during the night.) We homeschool (mostly unschool) and we are working on the food but it isn't going well. ha ha. Food is my major weakness!!!

I have 2 boys 7 and 4 and my daughter is 15 months old.

Maybe we can hang out sometime. We are going to the Juan de Fuca festival this weekend. If that is a good place to meet up with you that would be fun.

Destinye I think I remember you posting on the Olympia and Shelton boards. Where in Jeffco are you located? I am planning a day trip out to Fort Warden to play in the bunkers and at the beach there if you are in PT we could meet up there. I love going to PT! If only I could do it more often!!

Jamie,

You sound like me, haha. Since I don't think of myself as "crunchy" I tend to look at crunchy people as total hippies who really need to shave, and then I look at "mainstream" people and think they really need to get their heads out of the sand. I'll probably drift over the crunchy side before long, and stop shaving and wearing leather. Until then I can make fun of whomever I like.

The Juan de Waste-of-time Fuca festival won't be possible for me this weekend. Not that I'd really go if I could, but probably if I had kids that were 7 and 4 I would. My son is easily entertained, so he doesn't need that... for instance, right now he's trying to suck on his toes. Whatever keeps him happy.

I'm totally swamped with work and things going on for the next two or three weeks, but maybe after that we can get together? Send me a PM or post again on the board and I'll connect back with you.

I really wanted a relaxing summer, but that ain't happening... oh well.

Well, so we are about the same. I am one step ahead of you! Ha ha I already don't shave! Ha ha. But that was way before I even got more "crunchy" As a teen I never felt much need for it so I just didn't do it. So crunchy or not that has always been a part of who I am. So you can sit and shave your legs eating all healthy and I will sit over here all hairy eating my hostess donuts and cupcakes : and we can still be friends.

I live for stuff like the JFF because it gives me something to do outside of the house. I like to go out and do stuff and since I homeschool and I don't have a job, other then being Mommy, stuff like this is good for us! I would love to hang out when you are available. Me, I am available any time. Besides getting out anytime would get my kids away from the little turds that live across the alley that are coming over to play ALL the freaking time! Honestly these kids drive me bonkers! I shouldn't say stuff like that but I am going to be honest here!

Anyway until we are able to get together we could just get to know each other a bit on here.

OH and where are you having a vbac? I wanted one so bad with my second child I had to go out of town to have one! Which didn't work out anyway. Are you having a home birth?
