Wool has antibacterial properties anyway so I don't think sanitizing it is as much of an issue as it is with actual diapers. I've only bought a few used wool pieces and I just washed them well with my wool wash and then lanolized. I figure it you wash them well, it will get the pee out....not sure about the tto?
I would suggest stripping the fibers with Dawn. That will remove the lanolin and any other oils or dirt on the wool.

Afterwards you will need to lanolize your wool very well.

Dawn is not something you want to use on wool very offen though.
Just use a little Dawn, like 1/4 tsp should do it.

When you are finished make sure it is completely rinsed out and lanolize it. You won't need to add any more soap.
