I have been getting chronic clogged milk ducts, and everyone I talk to keeps telling me I need to get the baby on a schedule. He sleeps with me, though, so I have no idea how much he ate at night, or at what time. So I feed him again about an hour or two after we get up...or right before I go somewhere....or basically when he gets fussy. Then after that, I feed him about every 2 to 2.5 hours, more or less, again just depending on if he seems like he nursed good the last time or not. Not much of a schedule at all. Pretty much on demand feeding. I have been told by friends and family that the on demand feeding makes you more prone to clogged milk ducts because the breast is never completely emptied. I never had any clogged ducts until about 2 weeks ago, and now I've just been getting one right after the other. What do you all think about that? That doesn't sound right to me, but I wanted to know what you think.

Have you been wearing underwire bras? I can't or I get clogged ducts. Sleeping in a different position, or anything else that might be causing pressure on a certain part of the breast? I'd have to guess this clog has not really went all the way away vs recurring. Last time I had one it took a couple of weeks of working on it to get it completely better. Hot showers, hot compresses, using a wide toothed comb on the breast in the shower, warm rice sock, massage before & during feeding if little one will allow it. These are the things I did.
