I'm a first time mom and I have a sweet baby girl of only 6 days old!! We are cloth diapering and having no problems....except I don't really know what to clean my covers with. I wash our clothes in Seventh Generation, but I've heard that Seventh Gen. strips the waterproofing from cloth covers. I've heard the same about Dreft and other baby laundry detergents. So, for now I've just been hand washing them with our dish soap...which is eco-friendly and pretty mild. It's the only thing I could think of to use. I hope that I haven't been stripping the waterproofing off my nice new covers. I use Proraps and some Nikkis that were passed down to me. I don't want to go out and buy expensive detergents just to find out that they don't work. Help.
Any suggestions on what detergent/stain remover to use on my covers? What do you use?

Sun detergent is really good. Only $6 for a really big container. Not only that, but it lasts a super long time because you use so little.

We use Charlie's Soap for our detergent and swear by it!

For stain removal, we LOVE BioKleen Bac Out. That stuff works miracles.
