My DS who is almost 7 is having bed wetting issues. We have been very careful to not make him feel bad about it as we know its a physiological issue. My DH wet the bed until he was about 13 so he is very careful about how we approach the issue with our son. So far we take him to the bathroom in the middle of the night and that seems to solve the problem, but there are nights we don't or forget and he wets the bed. I have asked that our son just strip his bed and take his sheets to the basement, which he does with no problem but recently he has expressed an interest in wearing "Good Nights" He has gone through a pack of them and says that he likes wearing them but they feel like diapers and he is embarresed. He has also started asking to spend the night at his best friends house, but he is scared to wet the bed there, and he is also scared to be caught with a "Good Night" because he sees it as a diaper. He still prefers wearing them to wetting the bed, but he is about to grow out of the biggest size they make and I am unsure about putting him in adult diapers. I cloth diaper my DD and I keep thinking there has to be a cloth diaper type of underwear that my son can wear that feel like underwear but won't leak at night. Does anyone know of such a product? I am not opposed to sewing my own for him, but I think it would be hard to find a pattern.

The cloth diaper board would have some links for you.

You may also want to look into the under jams there pretty assorbant had are cut lower so are easy to hide under PJs. They got up to 85lbs Honestly we used the snap EZ when my DD got older and basically out grew most basic CDS while they were great they are pretty bulky and more obviously "diaper like".

I was just curious as to why you think the bedwetting is a psychological issue? Many children's bladders aren't "mature" yet at this age.
Also bedwetting can be hereditary. But to discuss the cloth diaper issue, I agree with the PP about asking on the diapering forums. Has he tried the goodnights that are more like boxers?

I think the OP said physiological, not psychological.

My 4 year old has some Snap-EZ training pants and I like them, but they are pretty bulky and more diaper-like. Depending on how much your DS pees at night, I'm not sure the regular trainer would be enough. I have to use the pocket trainers for my DS and once I add enough inserts for him, it's pretty bulky. And, of course, he would rather wear pull-ups.
I agree with a PP about looking into UnderJams and seeing what he would think about those, if you can't find a cloth option you like.

Thanks everyone for your good advice. My little guy is a big guy. He wears a 10 husky jean size so I think I might have to take a pair of his undies deconstruct them and make a pattern. I'm not sure how well the cloth undies would absorb but its worth a try.

I'll be honest a cloth "undie" wont hold much unless its really bulky.Like a PP I too used snap ease trainers I had the all votton "undies" the AIOs and the pockets.
The all cotton good to prevent to floor leaks but still soaked clothing sheets ect in a single pee

AIOs good for containment of one light pee heavy or overnight would leak

Pockets worked fine if really stuffed...
