Okay, so my diapers always end up a cluttered mess that drives me nuts. How/where do you store your diapers, so they don't end up a cluttered mess?

We use the book shelf over the kids desk in their room. I keep prefolds on one shelf, pockets and inserts on another, fitteds and covers on the third.

I put the snappis, wet bags, and lotions in one drawer and the wipes in another one that's larger. Seems to work for us.

You could try small baskets, put each type in its own basket.

We have one of those 5 drawer plastic things. Each size prefold has it's own drawer, the inserts share one with the snappies & wipes, (I mostly use prefolds as inserts, but the few microfiber I have get stored seperate so dh doesn't acidently use them as a prefold ). Covers in another drawer, and FB in another. When we are done with dipes I'll use the drawers for toys or whatever.

I decided to keep it simple when ds moved up. I have 18 FBs and 6 BG one size (not my fave, but backups). After I wash them, I just put the inserts in and put them in the hanging diaper bag in the boy's closet.

Same as others, we have one of those changing-table shelves and just use different baskets for covers and prefolds. Sometimes I fold them in the baskets, sometimes I don't, but at least they are all in one place where dh can easily use them.

Where do you store them? Mine are in the ds1 room, where toys tend to clutter it most days anyway. Its one room I've resigned not to fuss too much over. Maybe if thats why I'm ok with the slight diaper clutter, but I agree they just don't lend themselves to organized neatness.

Maybe you could hang a curtain over your shelves to cover them?

Before dd1 was born, dh built her a dressar that has a changing table on it. I use one of the drawers for my FBs and the small shelf on the side of it for wipes etc. The remaining two drawers are for clothes and linens etc.

6-drawer dresser. The 3 drawers on the left side hold clothing. The top 2 on the right hold diapering stuff. Nice wide top with plenty of room for a changing pad (on the left, so your right hand can grab dipes out of the right drawers), wipe warmer, and space left to get a dirty diaper out of the way of kicking feet while in the middle of a change.

we have an open shelf in the bathroom that we put the folded dipers on and it stays pretty neat but we don't have that many dipes

I keep the prefolds in a laundry basket at the bottom of the linen closet, the covers in a basket in DD's room and the wipes in the closet by the bathroom. I have to weed them out and pack some up as we're only needing them at night now (although they aren't really in the way).

We store them in the family room because it is close to the washer/dryer/outdoor hanging area and diaper pail (in the garage) and because that is where we always change him. BUT - that is why the clutter bothers me because it is RIGHT THERE! I love the idea of a curtain. We have the diapers next to the fireplace in the little nook where you're supposed to keep wood for the fire, so I could easily rig up some type of a curtain. Good idea - thanks.

Yea, that's probably what I really need to do. I'm sure none of them that I would get rid of would be worth selling, but I'm sure some of the prefolds would make nice rags! Many of these diapers are on their fourth child. I keep thinking that I need to hang on to them to avoid having to buy any new ones, but I really do need to thin them out, I guess.

We have ours in the tv stand....where you're supposed to store videos, I guess. It works for us since we normally change dipes in the livingroom anyway. And you can't see them because they are behind closed doors. Plus, it's a limited space, so if it starts getting too full, I know it's time to thin out the stash.

I put ours in the dresser drawer right by the bed for easy access. I really needed that drawer for clothes, but I managed to do it this way.

I just moved into an apartment and we don't have room for our changing table so I got a long plastic bin to fit under a bed, like this:

http://www.rubbermaid.com/rubbermaid...d=HPProd100280
(click on slim fit wheeled)

It works really well and with the wheels it slides easily in and out. Also, it doesn't take up much space and is out of sight but still accessible. It has plenty of room for wipes and other stuff as well.
