hi there!! I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask this, but here goes!

My mother's been collecting CDs off ebay, and making some of her own, here's what my stash now consists of:

Newborn (6-11 lbss): 5 all in ones
13 wraps
25 fitted
Small (10-22 lbs or 11-14lbs): 17 wraps
22 all in ones
25 fitted
Large: 11 wraps
10 all in ones
7 fitted
The wraps are mostly "diaperwrap" brand, velcro with leg gussets, some used but most is pretty good shape.
The AIOs are mostly Kooshies brand, most used, some in real bad shape but most pretty decent and a handful are brand new
The fitteds are flannel things my mom made, several layers of flannel and I think some have a microfiber layer inside also. There are 25 newborn size, but I counted them as smalls too b/c I think they will work in a small wrap also.

My plan was to do chinese prefolds with wraps for daytime and AIL or the fitted kisluv type for night time, but she made all these flannel fitted things so I guess that kinda takes the place of the prefolds. I will probably buy some prefolds too though.

What more do you think I need to buy, and of what sizes?
Thanks!!!

It is always nice to have some prefolds around the house. If you wash every 3 days, you will need to prefold to use while the others are in the wash or drying.

Make sure the wraps work with the fitteds- if not, you'll need some other covers to use with the fitteds and other diapers to use with the wraps. A dozen or two prefolds to use with the wraps is a good idea anyway.

By wraps, I'm assuming you mean wrap covers? You have a lot!! I'd stop collecting and see what works for your babe. CDing is so personal and what works for one family might not work for another -- personality, wash routine, baby size, etc.

sounds like you have plenty to me. if after the babe is born you feel like you are washing more often than you want then you can get a dozen pfs pretty quickly. other things you might want. 2 large pail liners, 1-2 smaller wet bags for outtings and maybe some cloth wipes if you dont want to use disp wipes.

Highly recommend cloth wipes! They work sooo much better than disposables. Sounds like your mom could whip some up for you very easily-- your size preference of two-ply flannel with zig-zag stitching.

ETA: my youngest daughter spent her first 3 weeks of life in the NICU, where they used all cloth wipes. Their reason for doing so was that it bothered newborn skin much, much less since they could use just plain warm water and avoid the irritating ingredients that are found in disposable wipes.

I will however say Kissaluv Size 0 was the best Newborn diaper I ever had in my stash...they were outgrown quickly but I sold them for almost what I paid on Ebay ...they held in lots of lil explosions , and some not so little

haha yeah my mom freaked out on us too, said we were crazy and silly, but we stuck to our guns and she finally realized she wasn't going to win this one, so she got on board. Now she's telling ME what kind of diapers I should use and how I should go about it! Crazy lady!
