First PP cycle (had an early loss with first PP egg).

I am on day 18 and there have been moments each day for the past 3 days where there is eggwhite CM. Most of the day though, maybe creamy or even a bit sticky. I usually use CM as my sign for O, but nothing too apparent this month.

I usually had longer cycles, so day 18 isn't so late for me to O.

Always record the most fertile CF you see that day. Those first pp cycles can be quite irregular- some short, some long, strange CF patterns, and short LP's. If you're breastfeeding then these things can be even more irregular. While 2/3 of women will O prior to their first pp bleed, only half of those (so 1/3 of women total) will have an LP long enough to sustain a pregnancy. Was your early loss a chemical pregnancy?

It's possible that your body is not quite ready for another pregnancy at just 4 months pp. Are you charting your temps as well? It would be good information to find out how long your LP is so that you could make a decision about seriously TTC now or waiting a few more cycles for your body to regulate to help prevent more early losses and give your body the time it needs to heal and rebuild its reserves.

Thanks Jaimee-

I am actually 16 months PP. I did have a chemical pregnancy, but 3 days of positive tests and then my period started after a few more days of negative results. Still nursing lots and not planning on cutting back at all, but would love to get pregnant soon. I got pregnant when DD1 was 17 months old, so I know it is possible for me while nursing.

Thanks

Ah, I read your siggy wrong; my apologies! I thought it said 9/2011 not 9/2010! Oops! So yes, the breastfeeding is probably still suppressing your progesterone at this point and causing your LP to be on the short side and messing with your CF and O day. I'm sorry for your loss! I've had two similar losses myself. As for your CF, you might not have fertile CF this cycle or it may be indicative of delayed O and you'll get fertile CF later on.

So my advice remains the same. I would temp to find out what's happening with your LP so that you can see how much more regulating needs to happen and whether you want to actively TTC or just see how things go until your LP lengthens. It can be difficult to have multiple early losses. Of course, often the cycle following a m/c is more fertile- I did conceive my first after an early loss and my second two cycles after an early loss. So you may have that going for you!

With my first, I didn't fully regulate until 2 years pp (when I nightweaned and dd started STTN) even though I had gotten AF back at 8 months pp. I charted during this time so I could see my LP go from 3 days back up to 10-12 days at which point I knew conceiving would be possible. With my second, AF returned at 12 months pp and I got pregnant the next cycle while bfing frequently night and day. My LP had been 4 days that first cycle and boom! was a fertile length the next cycle. So it can really go either way and some cycles will be more fertile than other cycles anyway. A lot has to do with luck to catch that more fertile cycle.

Good luck with whatever you decide! And if you need help temping, just post!

Thanks again Jaimee-

It took 3 years to have DD1 and caught the 2nd PP egg with DD2. I am feeling the baby bug again and am trying not to obsess. Dangerous territory for me. I may start temping next cycle or maybe just drop all attempts at knowing my cycle and let nature decide......

Who knows.

Thanks again ladies.
