can stretchy cm be indicative of something other than ovulation?<br><br><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/crap.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="crap">

I get it some months just a day or two before AF shows, from the estrogen rising as the progesterone drops.

I'm seven weeks postpartum and am hoping there's another explanation for the cm changes. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/redface.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Embarrassment">

many women get ewcm off and on when breastfeeding before fertility comes back...<br><br>
but some women (myself included) still get fertility back right away no matter how much they follow the EBFing rules.

the bolded is me. I've been having ewcm since around 7 weeks PP but am currently 17 weeks PP and no PPAF <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/thumb.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="thumbs up">

How long ago did your lochia end? It's really common at the end of that as your uterus finishes healing to have some yellowish EWCM looking discharge.<br><br>
It also, as others have said, is very common to have patches of it during breastfeeding.

Yes, anovulatory cycles frequently have patches of fertile CM, but then the egg never pops out. If you're nervous, you could temp and see what happens. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">
