Just wondering if anyone can give me some info. I was planning to buy a co-sleeper (with a queen size bed and a four year old who ends up with us many nights - space is at a premium and I have a hard enough time sleeping anyway), but a friend told me that she could never get her co-sleeper flush with her matteres because her bed had side rails. We also have a sleigh-style bed with rails - and am wondering if this will pose a problem. If the co-sleeper won't fit totally snug against our mattress it hardly seems worth the expense - right?

Anyone know the answer?

I use a crib side-car arrangement, but I have heard of people using a regular single mattress with this rubber strip thing used to connect two mattresses together--sort of a bridge--I know they sell it at Bed Bath and Beyond--here is the link

It goes under the sheet. I plan on using one once my son gets too big for the crib (not that he actually sleeps in it much, he prefers to be with us,,but one day maybe)

I don't think it would work with a cosleeper unless you cut it somehow, though.
