So we're moving and I'm doing really well about getting rid of stuff. I gave away a ton of free baby stuff on craigslist and feel ok about it (kindof)

I can't decide what to do with our mini cosleeper though. I had it for DS when he was born (he's 6) and used it again for DD last year.

It has an organic mattress and I have sentimental attachment to it as it's where my newborns napped and slept their first few weeks (until they came to bed with me full time)

So I keep thinking I'm going to save it to pass along to one of them when they have a baby, but that's insane, isn't it? I mean, who's gonna want to put their baby in a 20-25 year old co-sleeper? Right?

I should seel it, right?

Why is this one so hard for me? What good is it doing here?

My mom didn't save any of our baby things and it bugs me. DH's mom has everything from when they were babies and I always feel weird using 35 year old things with my baby when we go to her house.

Ok, so what do I do?

sell it; there are going to be so many neat cosleepers when your kids are older. the one you have would probably be very outdated. may as well make some money off it now and use it to take them out somewhere.

Take a few pictures and then sell it... or give it to someone you know who is having a baby and wants it...

I have a friend whose children are nearly my age and he has a very sweet story about the bassinette that all his children slept in. It was passed around from whoever had it to someone they knew who needed one, and everyone wrote the names of their kids who used it on the bottom of it... he said it was so neat to look at the list of sweet babies who had used it. Maybe something like that would appeal?

i agree its a great idea to save some baby things for your children to use with their babies...but i dont' think baby gear is the way to go. do you have any special outfits or blankets? especially ones you have pictures of your kids in...i think these make the sweetest momentos...and take little space. i know its hard with that stuff. maybe passing it on to someone you know would be easier?

I would certainly keep it.
Maybe there will be a time when you can truly let it go- because you give it to a very good friend or relative.

Or lend it to other families and let it come back to you after they had their use from it.
I do this with mine and I write the name of every baby underneath.

If you have enough room for it, keep it.

Rather throw other junk away..

Yep, nobody's going to use it that far in the future - even if it survived that long undamaged and sparkly clean, the safety rules will be different.

I say, take a photo. Set it up in front of a nice background, pose the kids with it, have the photo matted and framed, and sell away the object itself.

Then you can give the photo, or copies, to your kids.

Edited to add: If you have photos of the kids _in_ it as babies, you could use one of those multi-photo frames and put those old photos and this new photo in it.

I tend to take my time decluttering sentimental things. I vote to keep it for now until you are ready to let go. I found with baby stuff that over time it was easier to see what really meant something to me and what did not.

Can you reuse it somehow? I had a co-sleeper which converted into a playpen and used it when I needed a safe spot for a baby. If yours cannot do that would there be a way to convert yours to a stuffed animal holder for example. I was just thinking how if I was a little girl I would have loved a co-sleeper to put my stuffed animals into so they could be next to me and not crowd me at night.
